Engine number or model. The S80 has a 2.9 (B 9464S) or a 2.8L (B6294 T) Turbocharged engine. Yout VIN number shows it to be a 2001 model (10th digit is the year) 1=2001.

Heater control circuit is your O2/oxygen sensor which controls your emissions and keeps the car running efficiently. They go out quite frequently and need to be replaced. Wont cause any drivability issues other then lower fuel economy and check engine light. Sensors run between $50-$200 each.
If your car has Manual Climate Control (that is without ECC - Electronic Climate Control), then the problem is most likely the resistor. Costs about $85 on line.
Models with ECC do not have a blower motor resistor. On those vehicles, this function is handled by the A/C Power Module. There are four different power modules, depending on your build date (chassis number). Any of them will run you about $125 on line.
Ring a major volvo dealer. If you give them your engine or chassis number they should be able to provide you with the unlock code providing the radio is the original one fitted when new. Enter code using preset station numeric buttons. Write the code on the back of your sun visor for next time
1 try looking in the bottom of the windshield near the wipers there could be a small window window with your chassis number in it. 2 if not it is common on Volvo to be in the engine compartment on top or on the inside of the left wing possible near the battery if fitted up front.
remove the radio and post the chassis number ,i have some computer programmes that will generate the code,try looking on the sun visor or in the boot under carpet for a sticker with the number .

It could be as simple as a loose gas cap!
the number is located on the hood also it's located on the dash on driverside window lower corner and on trunk lid by the trunk latch, also inside door pannel driver side.
