How do u get the hood to open on a 99 vw passat if the pully is broke off

Under the car:
You will be able to open the hood if you pull off your splash guard and use a long long flat head screwdriver or something like that. You'll see the hood latch in front of the radiator with the cable attached to it at the top near the hood, put it on the drivers side edge of the bottom of the latch and pry to the passenger side, the lever moves from the drivers side to the passengers side, the cable basically pulls the top of it to achieve this. so your doing the same thing on the bottom with the screwdriver.

Release the latch from underneath by the lever that you have to pry towards the passenger side. Then open the hood, and replace the safety release mechanism broken part.

How do you unlock an Audi a4 that has a dead battery and the key will not open the door or trunk

1. First time spray an antifreeze product into the driver's door key hole in order to thawing it. Try again to unlock the door.
2. Flush some warm water upon the driver's door key hole in order to thawing it. Try again to unlock the door.
3. Spray also some WD-40 product into the door key hole in order to unlock the door. Try to slowly turn the key to open the door. Don't force the ignition key!
4. If no success until now, I suggest you another method: you will be able to open the hood if you pull off your splash guard and use a long long flat head screwdriver or something like that. You'll see the hood latch in front of the radiator with the cable attached to it at the top near the hood, put it on the drivers side edge of the bottom of the latch and pry to the passenger side, the lever moves from the drivers side to the passengers side, the cable basically pulls the top of it to achieve this. so your doing the same thing on the bottom with the screwdriver.

have someone push down on that part of the hood while you pull the release. Usually that frees it and it should be adjusted up so it will open again
