Ac not getting cold - 2006 Audi A6

Is the AC compressor running when the air temperature starts to warms up?? I need to know if the large line from the AC compressor is getting cold, should be almost frosty?

the compressor clutch does click on and off

tx valve could also click

Two things are very likely to be your problem. Freon or compressor. Turn on the ac on cold and see if the compressor is engaging, if it is and stops and goes or if it doesn't. try to check the compression on the low side of your ac, the smallest plug where you service the ac. Or take it to an ac professional to get it refilled or checked. Remember, just because its blowing air, it doesn't mean its working. There are fans inside the car that push the cold air inside your vehicle and most of the time these will work, but that's not the only part required to blow cold air inside your car, the compressor is what makes the air cold.

You'll need to have someone check the refrigerant charge with a manifold gauge.
If the low-pressure side is lower than it should be but the high-pressure side is normal or showing higher than it should, your orifice tube may be clogged.
Seriously, start by having the refrigerant pressures checked.

check to see if ac clutch is turning off and on

Was it getting cold before the compressor was changed ?
Could be a list of things including low on freon, restriction in the lines, cooling fan, restriction in air flow thru the condenser, etc.

have ac checked and refilled

Check the magnetic clutch is engaged on front of a/c pump, have the motor running, a/c on and fan on high, if the centre hub is static the pump in not switched on, this can happen when the gas pressure gets low.
