No this wont cause an overheat problem. Check the coolant level , check to see if the fans come on after it heats up. when the car is warming up you can check the thermostat, by touching the top radiator hose, after a few minutes the hose should get hot, this indicates that the thermostat opened up and is working. If it doesn't replace the thermostat. If it doesn't over heat until you start driving , then suspect the water pump. The impellers can slip on the shaft and not have enough flow to keep it cool.

Radiator fan on my 2001 pt cruiser only engages when the air conditioner is on. When the heat is on the fan doesn't work causing the car to overheat. Do I need a new fan?

probably not . There are fuses to check and a relay to check as well as the coolant temperature sensor to check . If the engine overheats when you have the heater on it suggests an air lock in the cooling system . Have the system pressure bled along with all the other checks.

My 1999 mazda 626 started overheating. we have changed thermostat, flushed radiator, and it will only drive about 20 miles before it pegs the temp guage. Now it will not start.

Did you bleed the air from the cooling system as required in any cooling system drain out or service?? If not the engine will overheat.

1999 mazda 626 cause overheat ???

I would look at the owners manual and make sure that it calls for a 40 amp fuse. Maybe it's not the right size. But you don't want to go too big because if it is shorting out in the wiring it could cause a fire. Make sure you have the right size fuse if not, there is a short in the wiring or in the fan motor itself.

1999 mazda 626 fuse 40A

cause burn out and overheat..??? If you put a new fuse in twice and it is still popping fuse you've got a dead short in the wires somewhere. Find out what the fuse controls and start there. Not gonna be fun.

My honda civic 1999 sir overheats when I turn on the air con.

If your car is getting Overheat when you turn the air conditioner On, it means that you need to repair your compressor or it will need to be replaced.

It could also be that if your car has a 2nd or separate radiator fan that should come on when the car is either hot OR when the A/C is on - perhaps it is NOT coming on and thus your car overheats. If your car does have a 2nd fan, check to see if it is coming on when you turn on your air conditioner.

Also, I would check that your radiator fan is on (even if it has only one electric fan) when the car temperature is getting near the HOT zone. At some point, the fan should come on to help circulate the air through the radiator vents and help cool the coolant (water) in the radiator.

In short, make sure your fan(s) are working okay. If not, that could be causing your car to overheat too.

Tell us news (remember rated this).

I have a nissan maxima 2000 and the air conditioner isn't working. The fan isn't rotating, and it overheat with a burning rubber smell if it is left on. I also notice the car makes a pinging sound...

Check the radiator fluid level.
Sounds like the water pump or alternator or power steering pump has seazed causing the fan belt not to drive the rest of the necessaryattaychments also causing engine to overheat.
