Is it a clicking only while driving? Maybe more so when turning? If so then it could be a CV joint. The boots tend to tear on the outter joints and the grease slings out (sometimes seen on the fender). Then you hear the ball bearings rattle around in there. Its very ******* them and should be fixed ASAP. If it breaks because of loss of grease it could leave you stranded.
If this is the problem then the CV most times can be repacked and the boot replaced. But repacking with grease does not fix wear and tear. It is not much more work to replace the whole shaft and CV shafts with inner and out joints ready to go are fairly cheap now days.
