Where is adjustment for idle located in 528

I am assuming a Northstar engine. Car idle is in no way connected to the starter - you have probably disturbed something else nearby. Since the starter is close to the throttle body, check the TPS, IAC motor and for a sticking throttle linkage - they all can cause idling problems. By the way, there is no user idle adjustment - all controlled by the engine computer.

The idle speed is controlled by the engine computer through the idle air control valve , there are no provisions for adjusting idle . Depending on the type of system you have, carburettor - there is a idle srew near the carb linkages, that you can turn up with the engine running that will adjust the idle. Also if its idling too high sometimes the autochoke could be stuck. If its injection - the idle solenoid could be gunked up. Remove and clean with carb cleaner or petrol then refit. And it will idle high at start then will settle Once engine reaches operating temp. Hope it helps

A high idle meant there is excess air bypassing the idle control valve. Check for vacuum leaks. Also the throttle body may be sticking open or the throttle cable not adjusted correctly.

The idle control is electronically controlled. If the idle speed is too high, its likely that the cold start unit which is fitted to the throttle body is defective and should be replaced....
One thing I've noticed living in a hot climate....Many of our mechanics remove the thermostat believing it serves no function in a hot climate. The thermostat in fact is a critical component in all climates and must be fitted, particularly with fuel petrol injected vehicles. If removed the the result will be incorrect temperature signals being sent to the management system, which in turn could result in the fast idle you are describing. The computer will be told that the coolant is cold and therefore increase the idle speed as if the engine is still cold!

Check your coolant level. The Idle air control valve works with coolant in the system and will produce high idle it there is very little coolant. Also check to see if there are any vacuum lines disconnected. They can also cause the high idle.

That sounds about right, the idle speed may not even be manually settable due to emissions regulations.
I know for sure you can't adjust the idle mixture anymore; that is determined by sensors and the on-board computer.
There may still be adjustments on some cars but they are often sealed with lead to avoid tinkering.

there is no idle speed adjustment its computer controlled if its ideling to fast there will be a vacume leak somewhere causing the engine to idle high.
