Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

To confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.

1989 Toyota Camry automatic transmission starting off on high gear.Stalls on drive like pulling heavy loads.

It is quite likely to be a failed shift solenoid, causing inability to find low gears. There should be a trouble code stored, causing the O/D lamp to blink.

Will a broken timing belt damage the valves in 1990 toyota camry v6 dx

No damage will occur. This is a non-interference engine so all you will have to do is make sure the timing marks on the cams and crank are set properly.

Loss of power and drive but engine is still running

The water bubble under the dash might be a heater core, and the slow and sluggish might be caused by the transmission, try checking the wires and plugs, they may need to be replaced, we just changed out the wires and plugs on ours and it did wonders!

My 1990 Camry jerks and sometimes stalls

The 1st thing to do is have a trouble code retrieval test run to see what is making the check engine light come, this is the source of the problem.

Gear problem

Hi! chefcato36
I am just guessing but is this an automatic transmission? If the automatic transmission oil / coolent is old or low, the transmission will not work correctly. If the trany fluid is more then 5 years old the oil and filter need to be changed.
