BCM Unit in 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan

I looked at the fuse box and I drove the van and the problem fixed itself. I was thinking that it was the BCM Unit but I found out that it was oil that was on the belt. The BCM had to reconfigure itself before the van works properly. I thank you for your help. Ted

I had my 1996 caravan the wiper run even the swicth in off so I took it to service the diagnost was the bcm, they replace it but problem remain, but this time the radiator fan is not working so iam having overheating they told me it was not related with the bcm, isn"t the bcm controls all the electrical system in the body so they made it worse any comments what should I do I was thinking of complaining with the manager cause they made me spent a lot everything was working before i went to them, I did not pass the inspection because of the wiper, now it got worse thanks vergel m

The BCM Unit had to re-learn the systems when I put another unit in. The Windshield wipers use to come on whenever they wanted to without touching the button and the air conditioning stopped working all together, but now it works like new. Everything works perfectly but the only draw back is that the odometer jumped from 94,521 miles to 120,000 miles when I installed the new BCM Unit. I know that the miles were lower but I am happy that the van is running great and everything works just as they are suppose to. I believe that the air conditioner unit did not get the right signal from the BCM and so the motor started to smoke. I ran the engine for 10 minutes and it went away. Thanks again for the advice and have a blessed day. TED

My bcm fuse keeps blowing in my 2005 dodge grand caravan. Can't figure out why.

I would think there might be a short somewhere in the BCM circuit. Unfortunately the BCM controls systems from one end of the van to the other and your short can be anywhere in between.

Where is the location of the fuse for the door locks they quit working

The 2005 Dodge Caravans have software problem in the BCM that causes the power locks to quit working. The only fix is to bring the van to a dealer for a software flash update.

How ever you might look under the hood and see if you have a fuse pannil there if so on the underneith of the pannil it will have a diagrm of what fuse goes where....best of luck

Where is the fuse box on 96 dodge grand caravan

I think it's behind the glove box. You might have to pull the glove box out beyond the stops to access the panel

Front wipers won't work

I just replaced the BCM on my wife's Chrysler Town & Country minivan, and it fixed the wiper problem. Get a used one from a upullit wrecking yard. I got all 6 of the ones they had. At 9$ a piece I wasn't taing any chances. The third one did the trick. I think you have to get one that has the same engine. Otherwise it won't run, but your wipers will work:)

1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager

I had the exact same problem PLUS my power door locks and some guages stopped working. I replaced the Body Control Module (BCM) which is behind the inside fuse box and problem was fixed. I did get the part from a salvage as the unit from Dodge was $1000. Make sure you replace with same part number and disconnect battery before working on it. One downfall of changing BCM is I now have a new odometer reading.

Help

i have a 1996 grand caravan, and i have the problem of alarm going off too. I also do not have a keychain to turn it off. All you have to do is unlock the driver door or passenger door with a regular key, and that stops the alarm.
