How to reset service A or B indicators on your Mercedes C class, useful when you change your own oil.
Your vehicle should have come with a reset key. You need to insert that into the keyhole to reset the maintenance indicator. if you need a auto tool you can click here: great tools
a yellow light indicates maintenance interval has passed whether it b oil change maintenance or egr maintenance,(exhaust gas recirculation valve) can b reset as per ur owners manual.theirs specific instruction in ther on how to reset ur light. maintenance is recommended though, not a good idea to reset an keep driving w/o required maintenance.. hope this helps
Maintenance required indicator reminds you that it is time to take your vehicle in for scheduled maintenance. It is tell you that you need to get an oil change and all of you fluids to be checked and serviced. After the recommended time or mileage period the light will come on telling you it is time for your car to be serviced for whatever problems there might be. The dealer will reset the indicator after completeing the scheduled maintenance. You can reset the indicator yourself by Turning off the engine. press and hold the select/reset button in the instrument panell, then turn the ignition swithch ON(II). Hold the button for about ten seconds, until the indicator resets. If this doesn't stop the maintenance light from coming on then you need to take it to a honda dealer.
RESETTING THE ENGINE OIL LIFE INDICATOR
On LX and EX models
If maintenance is done by someone other than your dealer, reset the maintenance minder as follows:
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON ( II ).
2. Press the SELECT/RESET knob until the engine oil life indicator
is displayed.
3. Press the SELECT/RESET knob for about 10 seconds. The engine oil life indicator and the maintenance item code (s) will blink.
4. Press the SELECT/RESET knob for more than 5 seconds. The maintenance items code (s) will disappear, and the engine oil life indicator will reset to "100".
It means that 5,000 miles have passed since your last oil change or reset of the indicator, change the oil if it has not already been done.
you can reset the indicator by putting your key in the slot next to the indicator if you have one, Or try to hold down the "Trip" button so it resets and this should work
