REMOVE THE PAN, CHECK FOR EXCESSIVE DEBRIS IN THE PAN AND FILTER. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A LOT OF DEBRIS IN THE PAN, CHANGE THE 2-3 SHIFT SOLENOID. HOPEFULLY, THIS FIXES YOUR PROBLEM,IF NOT TRANS MAY NEED TO BE RE-BUILT OR REPLACED.,,,,GOOD LUCK

Any service engine light? May be a bad shift solenoid which are located inside the transmission pan.
Check for code(s) and come back with them.

1994 chevy 1500 4.3 with a 4l60e transmission put truck in drive at 20 mph it already in 3rd gear

This is a gray area. Please write back and tell me more about your truck. Are the stock size tires still being used? I the engine light on and have you scanned for codes already? How is the engine running, idling and accelerating? What are the speed ranges for each of the four gears? At 20mph your transmission should want to shift from 2nd to 3rd. Please elaborate on what the road speed range is for each gear.

92 dodge ram 150 not shifting

Two things happen on the Dodge's. 1. the rear O2 sensor shorts out and meses things up. 2. the Inner seal on the Direct drum (3rd) shrinks and causes a delayed up shift.

2007 Hyundai Automatic all of a suddent does not engage in Reverse and only drives in 1st gear will not shift up to second.

You're describing a powertrain problem. If you're a 2nd owner & this vehicle has less than 60,000 miles (96,000 km), it's still under warranty. If you are the original owner and the vehicle has less than 100,000 miles (160,000 km), it's still under warranty.

I have a 1997 Ford F-150 Lariat, and when pulling a trailer it makes a chattering noise when the gas pedal is pressed down to pick up speed. When going up a hill it will not go passed 40 mph and starts to...

If tranny is manual shift you may have a bearing and or bad gear. Try changing tranny fluid. Check manual for correct fluid may use tranny fluid rather than gear oil. I recommend using Royal Purple fluid or gear oil. This very expensive but will slicken up the shifting and extend bearing and gear life.

What is the o/d button on top of automatic gear stick for please

Over Drive..... Generally speaking, overdrive (OD) is the highest gear in the transmission. Overdrive allows the engine to operate at a lower rpm for a given road speed. This allows the vehicle to achieve better fuel efficiency, and often quieter operation on the highway. When it is switched on, an automatic transmission can shift into overdrive mode after a certain speed is reached (usually 70+ km/h [43+ mph] depending on the load). When it is off, the automatic transmission shifting is limited to the lower gears. For an automatic transmission, it is almost always best to select overdrive and allow the transmission to control engagement of the overdrive. (It may be necessary to switch it off if the vehicle is being operated in a mountainous area or when towing a trailer.) With a manual transmission, overdrive should usually be selected when the average speed is above 70 km/h (approx. 43 mph).

1993 Saturn SL2 will not shift into highway gear

Saturn says and I quote

there transmission fluid is not to be changed after the first change at 6000 miles.

Now I say it should be changed at every 30000 miles. If changing out the fluid doesn't work then you need to go to a transmission repair shop.
