  • This can happen if you change the battery or just removed the cables recently to do some car work.
  1. First check all the connections to the battery.
  2. Check the battery.
  3. If both check out and you have recently just unhooked the battery then just let it be. The code is normal in these circumstances.
  4. The code will reset itself after you cycle the ignition on and off 15 times. At this point the logic module will use the default values until it relearns the engine attributes again.

I have a 1996 dodge intrepid with a diagnostic code 1255. Could someone please tell me what that code means?

If you had two blinking CEL codes, a 12 (pause) and a 55, the code 12 means the battery has been disconnected within the previous 50 starts. The code 55 indicates the end of stored codes. Therefore, you have no saved trouble codes (disconnecting the battery deletes saved trouble codes).

2002 dodge intrepid sxt 3.5l. what does 10 flashes of check engine light mean?

Are you sure is not 5 flashes with a short pause in between and then 5 more flashes? Code 55 indicates the end if the diagnosis.

Code 1255 for 1996 dodge intrepid

Hi there:
DTC P1255 - Pedal Correlation PDS2 and LPDS Low

It's when there is the wrong voltage between the electric throtlle body, and the electric gas padle assemblys. Either there is something wrong with the throttle body electric motor, the gas padle was disconnected, or there might be something else Im overlooking.

You need to be aware that some diagnostic equipment can put out spurious fault codes which are extremely misleading.

Hope this helps.

96 intrepid code 1255

To be more precious, P1255 is a fault code just not for Dodge. It is used by Volkswagen for a short in the coolant temp circuit.

However if your reading the codes via flashes and not from a code reader it's possible you you misinterpreted P0055 as P1255.

P0055 is a generic code for "HO2S Heater Resistance (Bank 1, Sensor 3)"
There as several possible causes for this.Open circuit in oxygen sensor harness. They include problems with the H02 sensor and/or harness or a problem with the power control module, ( PCM).

But before replacing anything it is a good idea to get the codes read. Many auto parts store such as Auto Zone can will read the codes for you at no charge.
Hope this helps

What does the code 1255 mean in a 1995 Intrepid?

That's probably code 12 & 55 which means 12-battery has been disconnected recently, and 55 is end of codes. In other words, nothing to worry about. Are you having any problems?

99 intrepid hard to start and or cutts out, what is my solution

n most 90's and up Dodge/Chrysler vehicles, you can try to pull codes from the car's computer as long as you still have a charged battery. Put your key in the ignition, and turn it forward, but not far enough to engage the starter. Turn the key back to the Off position, then forward, back and forward again. In early 90s vehicles, the Check Engine light is going to flash a number of times. Often, code 55 means it is completed.
In mid and late 90s vehicles, you will often get a 4 digit code that may help you diagnose problems starting, mostly checking the eletrical, ignition and sensor systems.
