My keyless entry is not working. the lock switch in the car operates the locks just fine. my key fob has a brand new battery and the light blinks when I press the lock/unlock button. My vehicle is a 2005 civic ex manual. any help please

According to GM there are 3 components in the RCDLR or RKE remote keyless entry system. My key fobs with new batteries only work standing right next to the car. The range of the key fob dropped at that the same time my TPMS tire pressure monitoring system repair warning came on my dashboard. The problem is that there are 4 different components on the 2015 Malibu. The keyless entry system consists of the following components:

• driver door module (DDM)
• keyless entry transmitter
• keyless entry keypad

The driver door module (DDM) receives inputs from the digital transmission range (TR) sensor, ignition switch, brake switch, window/door lock switches, lighting control module (LCM), keyless entry keypad switch and remote transmitter. The DDM outputs consists of keyless entry keypad switch illumination, power door lock actuators, luggage compartment release solenoid, horn relay, and lighting control module (LCM).

Keyless Entry System Description and Operation - Active
The keyless entry system is a vehicle entry device. The keyless entry system is used in conjunction with the door locks to unlock the vehicle. Keyless entry will lock/unlock a door or open the rear compartment lid when a corresponding button on the keyless entry transmitter is pressed. This is accomplished by the transmitter sending a radio frequency to the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR). The RCDLR interprets the signal and activates the requested function via a serial data message. A low transmitter battery or radio frequency (RF) interference from aftermarket devices, such as 2-way radios, power inverters, computers, etc., may cause a system malfunction. High RF traffic areas, such as gas stations that use pay-at-the-pump RF transponders, may also cause interference that could lead to a malfunction. Keyless entry allows you to operate the following features:
• Door lock/unlock
• Rear compartment lid release
• Illuminated entry lamps
• Panic alarm/Vehicle locator
• Remote vehicle start

Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop . Dealer

does your unlock button work in car? If it does, do you have another keyless entry key fob? If so does it work? If you just replaced the battery you can try removing battery and cleaning contacts within remote. I know some of the nissan altimas had the same issue and the only solution was a new key fob. should not be using fob buttons for entry or locking for emergency only .if keyless entry walk up to car with fob do not press any buttons see if door opens then walk away from car with fob about 20m then go back to car without fob and see if door locked if so all working fine .indicators will not flash if the above dont work take back to main dealer for diagnostics keys may need to be reprogrammed

Key fobs have to be reprogrammed. something has knocked the coding off. Search the web for procedures to program fobs. It usually entails operating ignition a series of power lock sequences and the like. If that does not work you can take it to the dealer and they can recode it using the data from you cars computer, but that is extremely expensive.
