No. It's not so much the key which is the issue as the steering column lock can be forced or completely removed using a drill, but the immobiliser chip which is the problem (sometimes in the key fob on some models from that period). No chip = no start unless you fit a complete hacked replacement engine management computer.
Unfotunatley no the newer vehicals do not allow you to do this it is a security feature
