This case . first you must check the fuel pump .when start, check the sound of the fuel pump from rear seat if it's stop before few secound , replace fuel pump .

...Fuel pump seems to be working fine. Nice steady hum coming from the pump. I bypassed the fuel pump relay as well and had the pump working full time.

dear there is some case maybe the tem.sender willn't send arealy tem dig to the ECU , in this case you can feel the ECU cover coming hot when engine off , if this happen you have to disconnect the heater from side mirror or rear winsheld and replace tem sender unit .

Change the coil pack its at the back on the firewall and the ignition module is built in to the base of the coil and they crack and pack up when hot just as you describe

  • Anonymous Aug 21, 2011

I was thinking the coil,as well. Would the crank position sensor cause this issue? Thanks

no i dont think so but it wouldnt hurt to change it anyway as they are not expensive for this vehicle about 12 euros i pay as when i actually change them but i dont change nothing unnecessary tll i have tested it with my multimeter ,No if anything this is the coil on this car as its a fault of the model they all go at regular intervals,Still trying to work out how the heated rear window and the mirrors can cause the ECU to get hot though as they are not even wired to anything in the ECU

Coil packs not firing on 2000 s type 3.0 jaguar

The coils have battery voltage running through the primary windings, and grounded in the ignition control module. The engine computer signals the ignition module when to cut the primary current, thereby inducing high voltage in the coil's secondary windings and spark at the spark plug.
The computer processes all sensor information, but primarily from the crank position sensor, to determine spark timing.

1989 VW Golf wont's start. Coil loses power, no spark

You are describing a bad ignition switch. These fail in such a way that the voltage to the ignition fails while in the crank position.

1999 vw golf all windows stop working while car was still running.Shut the car off then it woulld't crank over either. Check battery it is good. What could cause this to happen at same time.

My guess would be a fuse has blown, which has cut-off current to you windows and starter, and you didn't notice the latter until you shut off the car of course. Give the fusebox a quick check before making any assumptions.

91 vw golf will not stay running after 15 minutes

You are losing oil pressure, this means your oil pump is probably out. Don't drive it anymore until you can get that repaired. It's shutting down because it's siezing up. You need the extra power to jump it because the piston rings and wall are sticking together, let it all cool down and the rings contract and loosens up. Allowing the engine to turn.

Security light flashing

Take the Original Ignition key out to the car. Get in it and turn the key on. Every light should light up like your going to start it. The factory security light will flash. Leave the ignition on until it stops flashing. Should take about 10-15 min to do it. once it does, shut the key off and then turn it over to start the car.
