SOURCE: 1998 lincoln mark viii steering wheel dont return

the first thing to do is to make sure the steering is not binding up,like a balljoint or tierod , un hook the tierods and feel the turn of the wheel at the wheel not the steering wheel, make sure its not thight do the same on the other side, also take a good look at the shaft going to steering gear, ive found that the ujoints rust up and bind, causes wheel not to return, it could also be a leaking rack internally, start there, good luck.

SOURCE: where is the air suspension compressor relay

the height sensors work as relays. it lets the computer know when an air spring needs air. if one air spring needs air, but all the others are level, the air spring needs replacing. it means it's leaking.

Front air suspension not working

Or for under $400 you can buy a coil spring conversion kit from a company like
Arnott. Look for coil spring conversion kit exclusively designed for the Lincoln Mark VIII. The kit converts the entire vehicle to a reliable coil spring/strut suspension system. Also look for a kit the required no special tools and comes with detailed installation instructions.
