I have a jaguar xj6 sport 'm' reg my radio has gone on tel mute & does not work i have been told it is 1wire to disconnect & i have been told its a near impossibility because the wiring will be intwined with all the cars wiring that sends pules around the car therefore messing with it may automatically open the windows or unlock the car, this is a chinese puzzle i really need to solve as i have no music HELP please... tony
The problem is probably the radiator.
The radiator on the right front (passenger side) has a built in steering cooler, they can on occasion rupture internally and this will cause the steering fluid to leak internally and mix with the antifreeze/coolant.
The radiator on your vehicle should have a plastic side tank and if this is the case the radiator will need to be replaced, if you have a replacement with the metal side tanks then you can take the radiator assy to any radiator shop and they should be able to take off the tanks and repair the leak.

Don't drive is it a back fire or a misfire. Is the car low on power is the engine running rough have you a warning light on, is there oil in the water. A backfire with rough running might be a blown head gasket check the compressions. And let us know the outcome.
if it is a V-12, it is more likely a leaking head gasket or cracked head.
Before jumping to that conclusion, make sure it isn't just your heater core leaking. (This is not an easy fix but much easier than a head gasket on a V-12... and it can be temporarily bypassed).

There are several possible reasons why oil is getting into the cylinders: worn cylinder guides, worn valve guides, worn intake seals, worn or broken piston rings, leaking head gasket or incorrect grade of oil.
All but the last one will require engine disassembly to repair. A compression check will help identify the source of the oil leak. If you are using synthetic oil you may want to try a thicker oil such as 20W-50 to see if that is the cause.
It's tough to say... White smoke means you probably have a blown head gasket. Blue smoke indicates your running too rich. black smoke is probably oil... tell us more.
That white fluid is emulsified oil and water. Coolant is getting mixed with the oil and the engine whips it into a sort of milkshake.
The head gasket probably failed along on or more of the cylinders. This would explain both the oil/water and the rough running. Have you noticed a loss of power?
I'd run a compression test to confirm it. But it sounds like you need to replace the head gasket.
Get engine warm and do a compression test. This easily eliminates head gasket. Head gasket is a biggish job and time wasted if it is not the problem. Part throttle breather unlikely as this is a vacuum applied to the cam cover, so water is unlikely to get in there as the air is coming out of the engine. But, if water is in the inlet manifold, could it be the inlet manifold to head gasket? I can't remember for sure, but I think this is water heated? If so, that is probably your culprit. If not, it sounds like a top end water leak and unlikely to be head gasket, head gasket leaks nearly always show up as steam out of the exhaust - "white smoke". Hope this helps.
get the oil pressure checked with a master gauge at a garage if ok will be oil gauge sender unit at fault if low with master gauge check oil pressure relief valve on filter housing i assume you have checked oil level
sounds like valves not seating,this model car suffers from burnt valves as the engine was designed pre war when they had high octane fuel and lots of lead in the fuel ,lead lubricates the exhaust valves as well as causing all other health problems.but iam sure that these engines never got a stelite coated valves and valve seats when in 92 we all went unleaded.i have reground no end of heads since word got around that i could do a jag.i can get the head off in about an hour ,they are quite simple really just dammed heavy and the head gaskets expensive about 100€ another 3/4 hours to grind valves in then refit.valve timing marks on rear of cams by the way .
Probably a failed gasket- likely to be the head gasket, though if you're lucky, one of the others.
Need to check this out quickly - although some engines tolerate blown head gaskets better than others, it's usually turns into something much more destructive if left for too long.
