Hello! Clicking noise is always dead battery. Get a jump, remove the +Positive cable while car running. If it shuts off then it is the alternator. If it runs smoothly it is the battery. If it runs rough look at the voltage regulator or wire connector integrity.

Clicking sound is not "always" a dead battery. Your cables can be lose or dirty causing a poor charge from the alternator. Check this before replacing battery.

I would check the battery, by jumping it with another car. If it starts then I would have the charging system checked out. Now if it does not start then it may be the starter. I hoped this helped Tim

Have you checked your ignition coil? A bad ignition coil can also cause this.

Clicking starter=car not starting

Regardless of the battery age, sounds to me as if you have a drain on the electrical system First thing to do is completely recharge battery. An initial quick inspection might show a light staying on, whether it be a door , reading, glove box, or trunk lights, among many other things. If nothing is obvious an electical reading of the system while removing and reinstalling fuses will show the circuit causing the drain, Hope this helps

Jeep wrangler 2006 wil not turn over, it feels like it wants to

Check your battery status in the morning. Sounds like you have a drain, or a weak battery which will cause the problem.
