I have a 2007 dodge ram 1500 big horn. I have a crazy electrical problem that if I let it sit for more than 12 hours it drains the battery. When I park the truck and turn it off and open the door the radio and odometer shut off like they should. After closing the door and locking the doors about 1 minute later the odometer and radio come back on. They stay on for 10 minutes and then go off for 5 seconds then back on for 10 minutes and off again for 5 seconds. It keeps cycling like this. I took it to the closest dealer where they told me I had a bad instrument cluster which they had to order. After one week they received the new cluster and replaced it and I picked it up. The next day I noticed that they were still coming on. Needless to say I'm not happy after spending $530.00 for nothing. I'm taking it back tomorrow so they can look at it again but I'm hoping I can get an answer to point them in the right direction.

SOURCE: power door locks don't work on 2004 dodge ram quad cab

Maybe!!!! Wire taps are not a good thing. But yes I do them also... Kinda a catch 22! But the bad thing about wire taps are that they carode the exposed wires. Recheck the conections where you made the connection. If it breaks contact then the locks might not work. Or if the conection at that point is grounding out and blowing your relay or fuse. But if your tailgate lock still operated when all others did not then chances are that one of the door switches is bad. after you recheck your wires, disconnect the battery for about 10 to 15 minutes. If it is the relay then that should let it cool off and reset itself long enough to work or atleast hear a click out of the locks when you power up again. LISTEN CLOSELY FOR THE CLICK. Have someone inside of the car and up by the front of the car and this will increase the chance to hear it. You do not need the key on for the test because the locks have power all of the time. Good luck and let me know.

SOURCE: 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 (V8 5.2L) will not start

could be the battery, sometimes all the electrical would stay on but the battery doesnt have enough juice to crank the car over, if not check the alternater.

SOURCE: 98 Dodge Durango no electrical power

When the armed Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) senses that the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, it enters its power-up mode. In the power-up mode the alarm system remains armed following a battery failure or disconnect. If the VTSS was armed prior to a battery disconnect or failure, the system will have to be actively or passively disarmed after the battery is reconnected. The alarm can be disarmed by locking the vehicle and turning the drivers door lock to the lock (arm) position. Wait a few minutes then unlock (disarm) the drivers door and the vehicle should start.
If the VTSS has been disabled in the high-line Central Timer Module (CTM), the VTSS feature must be re-enabled using the Chrysler DRB scan tool. The clicking you heard was probably from the CTM located behind the glove box.

The cluster will have to be sent out for repairs or exchange by a dealer or see Model Electronics.

Battery in Dodge Ram 1500 went dead. After charging, horn won't stop honking. As soon as battery cables are reconnected, horn starts honking continuously.

First I'm not a Dodge mechanic.
* Check your warranty. Call for setrvice.
*** following is for information only.***
* horn switch is stuck. See if you can pry it back up.
* For multiple horn switches (both sides of steering wheel) check both switches for "mushy operation" or stuck in one position.
* Horn RELAY not working (all makes); https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76xR7QGPF1M
* The drained battery is probably due to a short in the electrical system
* Pull the "Horn" fuse to stop the horn (or pull out the horn wire to the horn itself. Leave it disconnected until you can confirm the bad switch or a short in another part of the system.
