The only manufacturer that uses a fuel cut off switch or inertia switch is Ford. Your jeeps fuel pump power supply is ultimately controlled by the cars computer. If you suspect there is a fuel pressure issue the first step would be to actually check fuel pressure with a fuel assure gauge. Or listen to see if you can hear the fuel pump run for a couple of seconds when you turn the key to the run position. If there is no fuel pressure or you can not hear the fuel pump run than the next step is to check for power to the fuel pump. You should be able to find the fuel pump harness back by the fuel tank. There will be a connector where the fuel pump harness plugs into the vehicle harness. You'll want to check for power to the pump by back probing the wires at that connector. There should be power for a couple of seconds when the key is turned on and any time the engine is cranking. If there is power the fuel pump is bad. If there is no power let me know and I'll be happy to help you with some further diagnosis.

Will not start

first check all fuses under the dash and hood. if everything is good there. if it turns over but wont start it could be the Fuel pump or Crank sensor. while in park and parking break on have someone lay to the side of the jeep about middle way of the gas tank, turn the igniction switch to the on position WITHOUT cranking it over. you should be able to here a humming noise for about 3 to 4 secounds, if you only here a click probley the pump. also if the fuel filter has not been changed in a while you need to do that as well.

If the spark is getting right.Get the fuel system checked.Its quite possible that fuel pressure is low or fuel pump not starting up right.

Car was running fine turned it off then tried to turn it on again and there was no power or anything. Checked battery and has a full charg

My 01 jeep 4.7 wont start died at stop ligh,t fuel pump starts when i turn key i smell fuel turns over fast but start, wont even try

If you are smelling fuel, there may be a good posiblility of a fuel leak. This must be checked first for safety of you and your car. The fuel system runs by a high pressure fuel pump. If there is a fuel leak and the pressure is not building in the system, the engine will not start.
