How do you check the fuel pump reay - 1998 Cadillac DeVille

The relay will be in your main fuse box under the hood

Check the wires going to the fuel pump relay for a ground with the ignition on. The reay requires a ground sent from the ecu to activate the relay and sent power to the fuel pump.

replace turn signal reay (use a heavy duty relay for trailers)

parts store or dealer can tell you where this auto shufoff reay is.. and about replacing it..

everyone seems to be answering a different question, the fuel pump relay on a 01 pt cruiser is under the hood, find your positive battery "extension thingie." It will be kind of close to the firewall on the driver side. You'll know what I mean when you see it, just can't remember it's actual name off the top my head. But the plastic box that its connected to is what you need. open it up and you'll find fuses and relays. Standing at the front of the car, you'll see 6 (2 rows of 3) relays on the left side, the fuel pump relay is the middle relay on the row closest to the firewall. A pair of vise grips makes it really easy to pull out.

The fuel pump relay for the 2.0 non turbo is mounted on a bracket at the
left rear of the engine compartment. On the 2.0&2.4 turbo it's located
behind the center of the dash. Hope this helps.

those old style relays in the steel cases mounted on th fender under the hood were good for falling arart inside.check the fan reay

possible that the ECM grounds the fuel pump relay. try grounding it with a test light with key on.

check the fuel pump /oil pressure switch   try un-plugging the wiring from the switch and see what happens.

the pumps play up ,can you hear it running when you start the car from cold?if you carnt check the power supply at the pump connector with a multimeter if you have power there you have a pump problem,if you havent got power you have electrical fault
