P0117 Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Low Input,,,Code P0117 indicates a low voltage input from the Coolant Temperature Sensor to the PCM. don't assume that the sensor is bad in this case, often it can be as simple as Rusty and/or corroded Engine Coolant, also check the connections to be sure they are tight, if these check out, then and only then,, you'll have to change the sensor

2014 4cyl. engine overheated and shut down, now the engine wont start. the code is po117. If i replace the the sensor will the engine start back up .

code p 0117 refers to engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor---circuit malfunction===causes ---coolant thermostat--wiring short to ground ---wiring short to positive---ECT sensor
check all the wires to the ect including the fan relay and fuses
you may have to reset the ECM using a scan tool but it depends on the damage done to the overheating engine
sever overheating generally results in blown head gasket or cracked head. if you let the engine shut itself down then the damage could be severe

My 2012 Kia Forte won't start but cash lights up and clicks when trying to start it. I got two error codes po117 and po000 and don't know what they mean or what to do to fix it. Somebody please help

PO117 refers to the coolant sensor. This should not cause the vehicle to not start/click. Make sure battery is fully charged. Maybe even try a boost. If the starter just clicks when the key is turned it may be getting bad. You can try tapping on the starter motor with a blunt object while holding the key in the crank position to see if it may start

Have to keep adding water to overflow tank...Code read PO117 for mazda miata MX5

You have a leak in the radiator, water pump, a hose, the heater or a head gasket. Check these and see if there is any water coming out of the exhaust or in the sump.
Take off the radiator cap, fill it right up to the neck, start the engine and warm it up. See if there are any bubbles in the top of the radiator, keep it topped up so there is no room in the top tank.
If there are continuous bubbles then there is a leak in the head gasket.

The diagnostic code came back po117 and tha engine coolant sensor has been replaced, my car is still overheating. what is wrong ?

check to see if the fan comes on if not there is a thermostatic switch that controls electric fan that is not working.
I have wired the electric fan into the key switch so it comes on with the key switch and goes off with the key.
