My subaru wagon legacy is having a problem where I try to start it and it won't crank over, no sound, dash lights and radio comes on and flicker when I turn to start. 20-40 minutes later it will start. It does this haphazardly. What could be the problem?

Corroded starter contacts, rebuild starter solenoid. Or get a new one. Rebuild kit. Starter replacement.

SOURCE: what does error code 55 mean for Subaru leagcy 2005

This is a communication error with the BIU (body integrated unit). Need to take to the dealer, possible that the ECU needs to be replaced to fix this issue. It should be covered under the federal emmission wrty.

SOURCE: how to change thermostat on 1999 Subaru Legacy

Thermostat is located on the drivers side front of the engine, underneath. You will need to drain your antifreeze first of course. Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the thermostat housing, then remove the housing and thermostat. Take note of the direction the thermostat is oriented so you can put the new one in the same way. Install new thermostat, reinstall housing & lower rad hose. Check your owners manual or repair book for quantity of antifreeze to refill! It doesn't always want to take all of it at first. If you fall into the trap of not putting all of it in, you WILL overheat your engine & most likely blow a head gasket. Best procedure I've found is to elevate the front of the car & remove the bleed screw from the passengers side top of the radiator, then fill. That will help the air escape from the system. Air pockets in the system = hot spots and you dont want those.

How come my wagon won't start but only sometimes?

Sounds like weak connection somewhere,I would start by one at a time, clean by scraping the prongs of each fuse. If this does not resolve your issue go by one of the parts houses that provide free electrical and charging system checks

My 1990 subaru legacy lights up but won't turn over~not a sound.

your battery may not be charged enough to crank and start the vehicle or one of your cables may be loose so the connection is not there.

1997 Subaru Impreza wagon. Just replaced battery and hazard lights are blinking whether ignition is on or off. Tried turning hazards on and off and that didn't stop it. Only removing battery stops it. ...

Under your dash by steering column,by your left knee, is a small 4" x4" box that has a small wire attached. On the end of the wire is a small button. Push the button with the ignition in the on position. It will reset the alarm system. That will stop your lights from flashing. Have a great day.
