Mitsubishi montero sport 2000, all wiring ok, computer check ok, battery ok, lights on the dash bord ok, all fuded ok, it turns ok, but won't start... I do not have the original remote controls, so I just open the doors with the key, wich is not the original key also... car has 97000 miles, one owner in perfet condition no accidents...

Does your key have a chip some cars do and if it does not recognize will not start suggest you go Mitsubishi and ask help

SOURCE: Changing transmission filter on Mitsubishi

FIRST YOU HAVE TO UNBOLT THE TRANSMISSION PAN ON THE BOTTOM OF THE TRANSMISSION. THERE WILL BE FLUID IN IT SO BE CAREFUL NO TO SPILL IT. AFTER THE PAN IS OFF YOU WILL SEE THE FILTER ON THE BOTTOM OF THE VALVE BODY. IT MAY BE BOLTED ON AS WELL. HOPE THIS HELPS. LET ME KNOW. GOOD LUCK

I have a 2002 mitsubushi montero sport. The brake/battery light won't go off. I replaced the battery yesterday and car starts and stays running but lights seem a little dim and the dang brake/battery...

CHECK ALTERNATOR DRIVE BELT COULD BE LOOSE NEED ADJUSTING OR GLAZED NEED REPLACING. IF ALL IS GOOD, CHECK ALTERNATOR VOLTAGE OUT PUT AT BATTERY SHOULD BE 13.5 - 14.5 VOLTS. IF NOT ALTERNATOR FAULTY BUT CHECK ALTERNATOR BATTERY FEED AND VOLTAGE REGULATOR WIRES FOR LOOSE CONNECTION OR DAMAGED FRAYED WIRES. CHECK ALTERNATOR FUSE.CHECK THOSE THINGS BEFORE BUYING NEW ALTERNATOR.FIRST TURN OFF RADIO BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY CABLE TO KEEP FROM LOCKING OUT RADIO.

I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Montero . Alternator problems

Verify your connections at the battery, not just for being tight but for corrosion as well, on the terminal and the cable.

Also check for oil on the bottom of the alternator. The right hand cam seal is notorious for leaking directly onto the alternator, killing them quickly.

That all being said, I haven't seen an aftermarket alternator last on a Montero for more than a month or two; so if your new ones are not OEM, you might consider getting a genuine one if your corrosion and oil leak checks are OK.

Brake lights wont work

Check the brake light switch which is located above the foot pedals on a metal bracket.
