Having a problem with blower motor. Happens in any mode, heating, cooling etc. Fan will not not run sometimes and will run ok other times. When it is not running, sometimes it will start while driving. Suspect relay, but don't know which one it is in the relay box on firewall. Would appreciate advice.
Thanks
I also have the same exact problem with my 1994 Bonneville. Sometimes the blower will run, sometimes not. If it's not blowing, I keep it set on the high fan speed and then after driving for awhile or just having the engine idle while parked, all of a sudden the blower will start blowing. Since the problem is intermittent, what do you suspect? Relay? Which one? Or Blower motor itself?I also have the same exact problem with my 1994 Bonneville. The blower relay is the third one from the left ,,under the hood on the firewall ... also the high blower resistor is on the center of the firewall ..behinde the relay bracket

Hope new bits were used not s/h. if new parts fitted check the multi plug fittings they have a habit of breaking wires in and around the plug a multi meter is helplul and a can of wurth sabesto 2040 penetrant spray a GOD send for all mechanics.
this isnt the heatercore as it is producing heat and the blower is a fan. the issue could be there is a bad connection to the blower or that the fuse is no longer good.
Might be the Resistor pack located close to the blower. It has a flat connector with 4 or 5 wires, and two small screws holding in the duct. It may be a crispy critter. It happens... The blower moves air across it to keep it cool. The blower motor may be bad as well, or possibly the fan speed switch. May very well be the fuse for the blower as well. The blower connector may be loose. Let me know what you find.
good possibility your radiator is partially obstructed either internally (calcification blocking core tubes) or externally (leaves etc either in front of a/c condenser or between condenser and radiator). When that happens,(internal) heat transfer is lessened and the fan will work overtime to keep the temperature down. Flushing will sometimes help, but chems used are milder than they used to be and often will go around internal obstructions instead of dissolving them.
its not in the headliner. its under the side panel in the rear on drivers side. you half to remove the panel on the inside just above the rear tire. since the moter runs sometime i would replace the blower motor resistor first cause these are known for going bad and its in the same area as the blower motor. this resistor controls the fan speeds and if its gone bad the fan dont run right. plus its alot cheaper than blower motor. once you have replaced the resistor you can turn the fan on and see if its a fixya before putting the panel back in place.
