Car Stalls Randomly

Issue is this - car will be driving along fine, then it will stall. Car will not start, message reads "depress clutch to start engine". After 30 minutes or more, the car will start again, but the stalling occurs randomly as you're driving along. Just returned from the dealership, where they apparently installed a new switch underneath the clutch pedal. On the way home, the car stalled AGAIN. Frustrating at best. Any ideas???

When you say car does not start what do you mean does it crank atleast, now the switch they replaced is just a neutral safety switch has nothing to do with our problem to me it sounds like that the crank sensor is going bad in this car

1996 Isuzu hombre 2.2 manual trans is stuck in gear have removed the stick and put it in neutral and still stuck and stalls when clutch is let out

so , it seems the engine does start in gear, with clutch depressed.
or cranks , brakes off, and car does not move. with clutch depressed, if yes, then the clutch is not 100% seized.
we now know the trans is in neutral (could be siezed check its Gear lub levels?)

I can not decode, stuck in gear. elaborate that.
nor "
"still stuck"
the only clue here, is
"stalls when clutch is let out."

this last statement makes me presume you depressed the clutch
then turn the key to start, it started
and when you let the clutch out, the engine stalls
does it do that rear wheels (2wd mode) ? lift driving wheels off the ground.... (these proves engine not weak)
yes, transmission is sized.
no, then it is stuck in gear.

2000 buick lesabre stalls

I know exactly what the problem is. Buicks suck. Dont buy one. I have one with same stalling issues and after what I've read even with a computer diagnostic there is no way to know. Its called a defective car from the factory.

I have a Semi-Automatic 2005 BMW e46 318i. The engine randomly cuts out (stalls) when decellerating, coming to a stop, or when stopped. Other than this problem the car drives fine, and the engine starts up...

The problem you are having sounds suspiciously like the torque converter is not disengaging to allow your engine to spin freely until you are ready to accelerate. If when decelerating or coming to a stop you feel a jerking sensation similar to driving a vehicle with a manual transmission and bringing the vehicle to a stop without depressing the clutch, then the problem you are having is faulty Torque Converter Control Solenoid or a bad Torque Converter itself. If you have any other questions please contact me here. Good luck.

Jeep stalls ata speed with clutch depressed.

Not being there makes this difficult to give you anything useful, however, in reading your post, It makes me think that the clutch has little to do with the problem. Likely, the engine is either not getting enough fuel or is loosing spark. When this happens, the clutch being engaged is keeping the engine turning...when depressed, it allows it to completely stop. I would first check for proper fuel flow and pressure (filter & pump), then check ignition (crank sensor & other related ignition components) The items I've specifically named are the most common ones that fail. You should verify with individual component tests as well as code tests (larger parts houses do testing free) before replacing suspect items or repairs can get very costly even when not using a repair shop.
The tests etc are too involved to write here, but are outlined in vehicle specific manuals made by haynes, chilton etc.
If you need help on specific items, I can help you with that.
good luck!
