Possible problem is expansion valve freezes up, the compressor is failing or air conditioning electrical problem

SOURCE: air will not blow cold after freon has been put in it

ymeadows: If you have properly re-charged your A/C system to the correct pressure and do not get cold air coming out of your cabins vents, then you have a clog somewhere in the A/C system. This may be caused by a dirty orifice tube or expansion valve (same part different name) or the clog could be in the evaporator or condenser. I would not continue to use your A/C until you locate the source of your problem as this may cause over-stressing of other critical A/C components. If you are mechanically inclined and familiar with how A/C systems work, I would start with replacing the orifice tube or expansion valve. These can be on the high or low side of the A/C system and varies from one make and model to another. PLEASE VOTE FOR THIS SOLUTION IF YOU FOUND THIS INFORMATION HELPFUL, THANKS,

SOURCE: Air conditioner on 2002 Pontiac blowing hot air, although freon is not low...also makes a clicking noise.

Take it to a garage and have them evacuate the system and refill with refrigerant. you have air and non condensibles in the refrigerant system.

SOURCE: Air Conditioner Problem

the most common problem here is a defective air temperature control blend door actuator, this is what moves the door that controls air flow across the heater core or the ac evaporator core, to replace this requires u remove the dash assembly.

SOURCE: Air conditioner suddenly stops blowing cold and

If you are absolutely confident the AC compressor is not kicking out on low pressure then it is the blend door actuator.

The blend door determines how much air blows through the heater core or evaporator.

The actuator can be purchased at dealer and maybe at a local part store.

You need to make sure the freon is correct,by having ac gauges put on the system,if the compressor is running the gauges will tell if there is a problem with the ac system itself, now,it can be the temp door actuator motor that is in the dash,if it is not moving the temp door open,it will need to be replaced.

2004 sebring air conditioner stops and starts

Low freon will cause the compressor to short cycle, when the compressor runs the pressure in the low line is pulled down and the low pressure switch turns it off. Not running the pressure builds up and turns it back on. In the old days there was no low pressure switch, with no freon to carry the oil the compressor was destroyed.

When the compressor kicks on, is the air from the vents blowing cold? If the air isn't blowing cold, then your problem could be that you may have water in the system. I had a '93 Chevy Z71 that wouldn't blow cold and thats what my problem was. System needs to be evacuated and refilled. Good luck bro.

Air conditioner blowing hot air on 2002 monte carlo and it has freon in it

car air conditioner blowing hot air is cause by either a leak or a clogged condenser, since it has a freon in it then it might be a case of clogged condenser but this is just a contributing factor, it is possible that the leak is small that you wont even notice that the freon is not enough for the a/c to blow cold air.

A/C

Sounds like the compressor has gone out of your AC system. They are not too terrible to change, but can be time consuming depending on location. IF the freon is good, check the compressor and you should here it at idle speed w/ hood open clicking on and off as the clutch engages and disengages when the AC is operated. If there is no clicking on and off by the compressor, new compressor will be required. IF it gets cold when first adding freon, and then fades quickly, it is likely a leak in one of the high or low sides of the lines between the coil and the compressor.

Hope this helps!

Air conditioning not blowing cool air

To get the refrigerant in you have to have a technician purge the system first. Hope that helps.
