Replace gear box

They do not sell individual parts for the differential. Get the whole thing at a junk yard. Oodles of Fords fit this one. The junk yard may install it for you.

I have a 99 mustang. I went to put it in first and drive and I heard a clucking and grinding noise coming from the rear end I'm a girl and would just Like to know what the problem is....please help

If the noise is coming from below the trunk area(by the rear wheels), It may be that the differential is probably going bad and the grinding is coming from inside the differential. Inside the differential are gears and they will grind and cluck if they are going bad or bad. The car may or may not move depending on the damage inside the differential.

965 Ford Mustang 2+2 fastback. I noticed a hose hanging rear

The hose is likely the differential vent hose. If you get under there and take a look around the rear end you will likely see where it was originally secured.

Hello. I can assist you. Rear end noise is typically from one of three things: a bad or poorly balanced rear tire, the differential, or a bad U joint.

I have a 2000 mustang and the rear end is going out can a 1997 rear in fit it?

It should fit without any problem. why do you think yours is going out? Is it whining? IF so, check the oil level in it. there should be a plug on the back of the differential. Pull the plug and fill it with gear oil until it trickles out of hole.

Rear Axel Seal

Wheel, brakes etc that are in way of pulling axle out have to come off. Drain rear end fluid, remove rear housing cover, remove bolt that holds pin in differential, remove differential pin, push in slightly on axle to remove "U" clip that holds shaft in, then slide shaft out. replace seal. Reverse procedure for re-install & fill with gear lube. If any questions, get back to us.
