I have a town and country 2006. yesterday my passenger side sliding door button to open the door got jamed and the door does not open from the inside....the door opens from outside. not a power door

You need to remove the inside panel of this door, and confirm the inside lock button is broken...you can first try this at your local salvage yard...then do it on your Van...be sure to keep the assembly from the salvage yard...as you may need some of the pieces...the dealers still sell the complete assembly but cost is much higher...Hope this helps.

Door opener

Make sure child safety lock-out is not engaged for this door. There is a latch in the door and it prevents the door from being opened from the interior.

Sorry I do not know the configuration within the door frame. You may or may not need more working room. Some seat bases are removeable and this would allow better access to all parts of the back door.

If you can reach the wire which goes to the electric door lock, you could test if power is going through the wire. If no power when the unlock button is hit, you must trace the wire back to the switch.

Now if you put a 12 volt power source through test wires and bypass the locking mechanism and directly power the individual door lock, it should be possible to set the door lock to an open position. This would allow you to open the door and continue servicing the inside of the door.

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you remove the positive battery connector and let it sit for atleast 15mins. before reconnecting it. This will reset the system and can get it back to it's normal operation.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

If you open the back door and look at locking mechanism on the door, you will notice a small lever which stops doors locking from inside you need to move it up or down and try the door opening from inside. will be easy if you wind the window glass down. .this feature is for the safety of children non adults' accidently opening the door.

The remte control key is not responding with the car

Hi abdumi0f,

Firstly, open your glove box and make sure Valet Mode is not enabled, if it is not, follow these steps.

Step 1: Open drivers door and leave open.
Step 2: Lock and unlock the driver’s door using the power door lock switch on the door.
Step 3: Insert key into the ignition.
Step 4: Turn key to on position and return to off position. (IMPORTANT - use ON position NOT ACC position). Do this 3 times within 10 seconds. Leave key in the ignition.
Step 5: Open and close the driver’s door 3 times. (Door should be left open after this step).
Step 6: ECU should respond by locking and unlocking the doors.
Step 7: Press any button on remote #1 twice. ECU responds by locking and unlocking the car doors.
Step 8: Press any button on remote #2 (etc.) twice. Each time the ECU will respond by locking & unlocking the doors.
Step 9: Remove the key from the ignition and the ECU will respond a final time with a series of door locks and unlocks. You're done!

Hope this helps,

When i push child lock button on my C220, doors automaticly locks and i can not open back doors from inside, but in 6-7 seconds I can open back doors from inside. Why child lock functioning 6-7 seconds?

If you want to keep the child-locks engaged, and doors unopenable from inside, you must set the lever by hand inside the rear door jam of each door. It should be marked, locked/unlocked or on/off. Are there other issues I am not addressing? I hope this was helpful.

Driver's door unable to lock unlock

First, you really don't give us enough info to help you. What kind of a car? Power door locks? Do you mean the key won't turn in the lock? Is the lock frozen? What country are you in? In the USA, just call a locksmith and they can come out slip a special tool down the window to open it up.
