99 odyssey van my srs light just came on, battery is 4 years old , ignition recall not done yet. as i got to intersection and came to a stop all gauges went dead. vehicle did not stall. As i drove away all lights came back. This repeated itself one more time. Hearing high pitch noise sound from left side under hood and no further issues after driving 100 highway miles. Srs light still on, however.

umm.. if your srs (safety restraint system) light is on that means that either an airbag, seatbelt, or some other (possibly serious) thing is broken in the system. The only way that i know to reset it is to fix the problem, whether it be a simple switch in a seat belt or complicated fix like fixing an airbag deployment system.

If you don't fix the underlying problem, the SRS light will just come back on right away. There is no way to bypass this. Fix it or live with the light. Erasing the code and not fixing won't help at all

Your vehicle may be part of a 2002 honda/acura recall. Faulty ignition switch!! Typical symptoms are: Random stalls, hard start, no spark, power loss (symptoms progress in hotter weather). When the vehicle stalls/shuts off while in motion, usually the speedometer drops to "0" while in motion. Some warning light not lit when ignition is set to "on" (chk engine/ABS/Brake etc.). Call your local dealer with your VIN# on hand and check if your vehicle is part of the recall. Refer to faulty ignition switches, affected years (1998-2002 models), accords/preludes/pilot/Odyssey/Civic/CR-V and various Acura models.

I'm guessing you mean the SRS light, yes. When you have a bad battery the battery voltage can drop below 10 volts. The SRS unit detects this voltage loss and set a DTC (diagnostic trouble code) for an internal SRS unit failure. You have to erase the DTC memory. You'll need an SCS service connector tool (P/N 07PAZ-0010100) You can order one from your local honda dealer. Don't worry its not more than $10. Then you'll have to find the MES 2pin connector located in the upper right hand corner of the drivers underdash fuse box. It can be gray, green or yellow in color. 1.)Turn the ignition switch off. 2.)Unplug the MES connector from the fuse box and plug your SCS special tool into the MES connector. 3.) Turn the ignition switch on. 4.) The (red) SRS light in the dash will come on for 6 seconds and then go off. Remove the SCS tool from the MES (2P) connector within 4 sec. after the SRS light went off. 5.) The SRS light comes on again. Reconnect the SCS tool to the MES (2P) connector within 4 seconds after the SRS light came on. 6.) The SRS light goes off. Remove the SCS tool from the MES (2P) connector within 4 sec. 7.) The SRS light indicates that the memory is erased by blinking twice. 8.) Turn the ignition switch off and wait ten seconds. You may have to do this procedure a few time to get the steps correct. If this sounds to complicated I'm sure your local Honda dealer would be happy to reset the light for you for no charge. Just let them know that the battery was recently replaced and you think that the SRS light came on due to low battery voltage. -Hope this helps:)

if you can get me your vin# i can check through honda and see if recall hass been done.or you can call any honda dealer and have them check also

Go to auto zone to check it is free. then you will see what is going on.

secondary restraint system or similiar to that... it's your air bag(s)

Maybe the solution
There is a recall on the ignition switch,
My 99 Ody with 120K would suddenly switch off and come back while runing, Take it to dealer and report to Honda, Since out of warranty. The dealer would do the repairs estimated at $100 charge to you.

safety restrane system(srs) get the car on a scanner to see what code you got if you whant disconnect the battery it will clear the code maybe will stay off let me know pierre

I have 2002 Odyssey( 59000 miles without warranty). Several months ago the SRS light stayed on after I started the car. Some people said the dealers usually charge $ 80 to 95 to reset the light. Today I sent the car to dealer. After checking the car, they told me the car is under warranty, the parts and repairing are free.
