Many cars have the cooling fan on a thermostat or time delay, to allow it to run for a short period of time after the engine turns off, to cool the engine off. You may have just never noticed it before. So I wouldn't worry about that. Your real problem is the blowing fuses, apparently you have a short somewhere in your wiring. Putting in bigger and bigger fuses is a great way to set fire to your wiring harness. It's possible that the wire is pinched or chafed somewhere, and perhaps when you hit a bump just right, it touches and shorts. You may have to take this to the Chevy dealer or a GOOD independent shop to have them chase it down. Unless someone out there knows exactly what this is, it could be a tough one to find.
the only thing u have to do to reset your computer is just unhook your battery for about 10 min. then hook it back up then crank it back up if the light comes back on just take it to a auto parts store and have them check it with there computer it might be a bad sensor tripping the light!!!
Hello there, One of the problems Jeeps do have is Transmissions. It is very typical of the sensors and solonoid packs to go bad, Also Jeeps as well have well know problems with the computer causing transmission issues as well.
I suggest taking it to a shop other than a parts store they are great for basic info but a repair shop can actually look at what each sensor is doing in real time.
You are on the right track and I would most definetly address this asap rather than causing internal transmission problems.
You dont have to pull the tranny to fix this. Some so called "experts" on here shouldnt be giving advice if they dont know. The solenoid pack is located in the front the transmission just below the air filter and in front of the input speed sensor you just replaced. Unbolt the connector with a 10mm socket then the bolts connecting to the tranny. Replace with a new one 140 bux or close(get a new one). Installation is vice versa. Easy fix for any person who is mechanically inclined. Always get a second or third opinion when asking a thousand dollar question on any website. Some people think they know....but they dont.
shift linkage needs adjusting,,could be bent, easy fix, located along firewall to fram beneath the column, ask your son wut he ran over and didnt tell u about... hope i could help...:)
I just went through this with a ford at the shop we threw parts at this car for days. It turned out to be the PCM. You can have all the best fuel pressures plugs, and MAF input but if the computer isn't reading it properly it can't work properly. The batterybeing disconnected is resetting the PCM taking it out of limp mode thats why it runs ok for short bursts. Its probably over-heating.
Go to AutoZone and have them scan the car for codes (they'll do it for free). This will tell you what has tripped the check-engine light. Post the code(s) up and we'll take it from there. If the speedometer doesn't work, it's possible that you soaked the speed sensor's electrical connection and shorted it out. It's located on the transmission, so it's easily soaked when you go through water that deep.
