Some check engine lights need to be reset by the OBD-II code reader. It's also possible that you've solved 98% of your problem but there's still 1 problem left (possible clogged fuel injector?) that's pulling a different error code. (possibly P0301-P0312 misfire or P0262-P0295 injector)

Best bet is to go to 1 of the auto parts chain stores that provide free diagnostic tests. If it's just a lingering old error code it will be reset or if it's something new, you'll know exactly what the issue is.

1999 chevy camaro starting problem? help

check that fuel is getting to engine, next, are you getting spark, are your plug wires in the right order, are they all good, you must keep plug wires from touching each other, is the cap & rotor ok, coil ok, fuses ok, do you have a fuel pump relay, if so, check fuse in relay. is the fuel filter new, did any codes get stored ECM, put drygas in fuel tank. are spark plug wires fully engaged onto plugs, don't concern your self with any smoke, let's get the engine started first, CHECK EVERYTHING MENTIONED ABOVE, including fuel filter, air filter should be new also, todays fuel w/ ethanol is garbage, for older cars. is the mass air flow sensor for this car ? aftermarkets are garbage. let me know how things work out, my knowledge is not cheap, but I will help you to avoid egg on your face, KEN

1985 toyota camry unplug mass air flow sensor engine will start plug back in engine dies

There is a switch in the airflow meter that keeps the fuel pump relay closed as long as there is airflow. With the meter unplugged, the pump should not run except when the key is turned to start. It would seem to me that you have a wiring issue. Try jumping the fuel pump relay so the pump runs whenever the key is on. (Remove the relay and jump the pump wire to the accessory wire--see top left diagram.) This defeats the safety feature but will keep the pump running.

I have a 1994 gmc 1500 truck with a 5.7 v8.one fuel injector is pumping fuel and the other injector is not!!!!i swapped the injectors and its not the injector.

Go to the parts store and get a noid light for your truck, plug it into the injector electrical and turn the engine over to see if there is electrical pulse, also check the fuel pressure, the pump needs 9-13 psi with the engine running. you know if there is no pulse your going to need to check the wireing first. let me know

Changed out fuel filter because engine did not seem to get gas or start enless i put a gas soaked rag in the air cleaner...start for a couple on seconds then die...fuel pump seems to be working there is...

You may have a faulty MAF, ( mass airflow ), sensor. Often an engine appears to have a fuel problem, when it's actually an airflow problem.
The MAF is usually easy to check.
Sitting on top of the air intake duct, between the air filter and the engine you should see a plug that has 4 or 5 wires. Just unplug the MAF and try to start the engine. If the engine starts you wnat to be careful about leting it run to long.
Having this disconnected for an extended period of time may lead to the failure of other sensors, and eventually can lead to damage of the catalytic converter.

I really hope this helps you.

Maybe you need to check a few things, plugs, plug wires, mass airflow sensor, idle air control valve, fuel filter, air filter, oil filter, oil level. Is your check engine light on?

FIRING ORDER & CAR QUITS WHEN YOU PLUG IN MASSIVE AIR FLOW SENSOR

Hello,

You really need to start with basic troubleshooting. Is there spark to the spark plugs? Do you hear the fuel pump prime during initial Key On & during Engine Cranking?

Why did you change the MAF (mass airflow sensor)?
