1996 nissan maxima p0500 Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction and p0600 Serial Communication Link Malfunction codes with no check engine light on. will it pass a smog test in california.

It won't pass smog in California because the 1st thing a smog tech does it check for fault codes on the vehicle's computer with a scanner.

Two codes coming up on car even after fixing alot on car now need to figure out low cost ways to fix P0744 & P0722 code issues spent 1,800 on car & have spent 1,400 already in parts & labor.

you need a better mechanic that traces ALL of the possibilities of each code, not just read the code and trow in a part hoping that it's fixed ~ it can be wiring as well, not just plug in a new part as mentioned on the 2nd trouble code to the vehicle speed sensor

P0744 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Intermittent

P0722 Output Speed Sensor No Signal

the first of the 2 looks to be more intensive to trace and find out the problem & the 0722 is the easier job for an intermediate mechanic to trace the wiring for continuity

I have a 2006 Nissan Altima with 72,000 miles. I have had regular service on the car, and the service engine light just came on. Any idea what it might be?

You need to get a scanner hooked up to read what error code you have, as there are hundreds, and go from there.

The problem with 2002 nissan altima is ,whenever the battery terminal is removed, the car wont accelerate,so i used my scanner to detect the faults, and it shows me some fault codes,e.g. (...

your continually removing the battery terminal is what is causing the problem
the ECM cpu program is continually being corrupted by the terminal removal and when you wipe the codes ( read it as reset the ECM) it works fine until you touch the terminal again
permanent solution is ---leave the battery terminal alone

Codes p0722 and p0717 what is the problem?

p0722 stands for output speed sensor, this sensor might be in need of replacement, p0717 is for transmission turbine speed sensor, P0717 code comes with the following symptoms: engine cutting out, misfire and hard start after the engine is warmed up. check the coil plugs which is the equivalent of spark plugs except it does not have any plug wires. Start with the mileage and if the engine has over 100k miles, usually the coil plugs are worn. You can check it by checking the coil plug wells on the valve cover. If soaked with oil, the coil plug is normally shot and this goes the same for the valve cover gasket. Apparently, when the valve cover leaks oil, it is deposited in the coil plug well and starts shorting the coil plugs because of the contaminated oil. Note: when changing coil plugs, always replace them ALL as a set.

Orange engine symbol on dash stays lit, what does this suggest. nissan micra

Your car is most likely obd2 compliant (in the US everycar built after 1996 is) this means your check engine light could be on for a whole list of reasons, You will need an obd2 scanner to plug into the diagnostics connector to read the codes. Many times car parts places will let you use theres, hoping to sell you parts when you know what needs to be fixed. If the use of free one is not available you can probably buy one off of ebay for not too much. Use the code scanner, write down the codes and google them and/or buy a haynes manual that will explain how to do all these things.

Service engine light an noise

the only way to tell why the check engine light is on is to have the engine codes read by diagnostic scanner or if you have a self servicable computer under passenger seat. It is usually due to bad sensor or circuit which you can test with an ohmmeter

1999 Nissan Altima service engine light. What is

Any thing could be wrong. The best thing to do is to take it to Autozone or to a shop and have diagnostic test done on the car. Autozone does not charge to have it done and most shops will not charge you if they do the work.

2001 Nissan Altima Fuel problems. Car was runing good on the Interstate and start sound like out of gas. Can't start. Fuel pum working good, litter noise when I press gas pedar. ???????????

Replace the fuel filter first. If still no luck, replace the fuel pump next. Engine trouble light on? Rent a scanner and read the codes. After any repairs, clear the light with the scanner.
