Hi,
Isee your Montero will not turn ON as you mentioned.
If I may ask do you hear a clicking sound when turning the key to run the engine? if there is a clicking sound then possible you may need to check the battery connection if lose or probably replace the battery on your Montero.
Also you can check the spark plugs on the Montero since it is a starting issue.

2001 montero limited randomly wont start after setting a while starts fine
Check your gas cap and fuel pump. If you can start it after loosening the cap and putting it back on, your fuel pump is starting to die. It can't pull the gas out of the tank. When you release the cap, you let air in and release the vacuum in the tank.

2001 Montero won't start, replaced starter, battery and alternator. what else could it possibly be?
posibility your nuetral sw is shorted or starter relay is bad. you already spent a lot of time and money may as well buy a diagram otherwise you will spent more. research in the library or go to dealer parts store and ask or beg to see a diagram why the car wont start. what do you hear just click, just crank, it wont turn over, nothing. check fuses

Our 2001 mitsubishi montero xls ran hot and blew a head gasket.We just got it back and it rus great but has a little shimey or puttin when we are sitting at a light,as if it is idle to low.Put it in park and it runs smoother. Idle sensor or throttle sensor got damaged from the heat? Not sure...just thinking out loud! Any other suggestions?
