Cruise control not working

as it an automatic and one of the sensor for the cruise control is the VSS then I would be suspecting that there is a problem in the overdrive of the transmission -could be harness connections , TCM cruises control need these items to operate brake witch to be operational-- touching the brakes cancels the cruise control VSS to be operational , --reports the speed of the vehicle so that the cruise controlled speed can be maintained tachometer to be operational --- will shut the cc of if there is a speed limiter involved gear position switch to be operational ECM to be operational if any one item has a break in circuit , the cruise control will turn off could be as simple as a bad ground connection for the ground wire from the battery

Engine pulses/revs occasionally at stop lights

That's some mileage you've got on the car. It has obviously been well maintained? Car engines do surge, Deb. Next time you stand next to a bus or truck just listen to the sound of the engine .. an occasional surge and change in the engine note. It doesn't sound as if you have anything to worry about

1997 Subaru Outback drivers power window fails to turn off after going down in auto mode but is ok in manual mode. Switch or motor issue?

WE know the motor is working fine, so it must be the switch or in the electrical circuit. Good Luck

2014 Outback - Brake light flashes and Check Engine light come while driving then the engine shuts off. Wait 2-3 minutes before restarting. Happened 3 times in the past week.

Have the codes read. Check the brake fluid level. Wouldn't surprise me if low brake fluid doesn't kill the engine know days.

I recently bought a 2007 Subaru Outback. It is quite difficult to change gears first thing in the morning. After about 20-30 mins of driving it improves. Is this just while the gearbox is warming up?

Ok i will see if i can help you, i would really need to know the miles, the motor size and type of transmission (auto or manual) when and if the vehicle transmission has ever been services, If the correct transmission fluid was used and was is it properly filled. Has the filter ever been replaced, if so was the right filter used. So if the car has more that 100,000 miles and the transmission has not been serviced then i would start there. If it has been serviced find out if the correct fluid was use. the information on correct fluids will be in the owners manual under maintenance.

I HAVE A 2000 SUB OUTBACK STATION WAGN AND HAVE REPLACED WATERPUMP AND THERMOSTAT AND RINSED OUT THE RADIATOR AND ENGINE STILL RUNS HOT AFTER 15 MINS OF DRIVING, -- WHY?

Probably in the early stage of a head gasket problem, Subarus run great even with blown head gaskets, every once in a while the temperature guage will spike and blow coolant out of the overflow bottle, you may be able to detect exhaust gases in the cooling system by taking a whiff of the radiator or overflow bottle.

Hello Michael Blell, I went through all my favorite sources for repair information... with no luck TYPICALLY BBB Industries has an excellent library of TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS & wiring diagrams... but when I pulled up 2014 I was surprised to see nothing for 2014 Try these sites below (not even Haynes or Chilton gave any good clues). I think if you found a wrecked donor car with the feature you could get all the parts and wiring to swap it. this would not be cheap or easy but certainly possible

Noise sounds like a belt, only makes it in park, neutral and drive

Squealing noises are either * a worn or loose belt. replace the belt. * an A/C belt idler bearing. Replace belt and idler. * alternator bearing: replace the alternator. * timing belt idler bearing(s). Replace the timing belt and all bearings (there's a full kit for this).

My 2017 Subaru Outback with just 666 miles on it had a dead battery twice in two days. What is the problem?

Have dealer repair this. One of your electrical circuits is not turning off and draining the battery after you remove the key or turn off the ignition.

Cranking but not starting until second try.gas smell.Gas line replaced.Had spark plugs, fuel filter changed.Still having starting issues and today noticed leakage near gas tank.

Gas line was only repaired, not replaced. I don't repair gas lines because of this problem. The entire line is replaced, both of them, supply and return. From the tank to the injector rail. This is the reason for the long start. Loose of fuel pressure.
