Why do you think you need to change the rear differential oil? Of course that could be it. Try that first. Make sure you use the right oil.

When do you change a camshaft sprocket in a subaru

It's is extremely unusual to have to change a sprocket unless these is significant wear or other obvious damage. What does get changed is the belt, idler bearings, and most importantly, the tensioner assembly. There are full parts kits for this.

How do i to change a front main seal ?

You will need to make a tool. On the pulley there's two 10mm holes. Get a piece of 1"x1/8" wall square tube (about 3' should do.). At one end, drill two holes offset to one edge for some 10mm bolts that will fit in the holes on the pulley. The offset is so you can get a socket on the main crank nut. Fit the square bar so one end rests on the subframe. Now you can fit a big bar on the pully nut and undo it.

What is the proceedure for changing a front main seal?

ok this is not as simple as it looks. there is a keyway that aligns the crank pulley. If you have a 3 jaw puller it can be used to remove the pulley. I remove the bolt then use a spare old one to protect the threads and the end of the crank from damage. if your problem is removal of the bolt then you can get a pulley holding tool like this pic shows http://espimages.biz/2386/I/859/4/VS12471.jpg

Why does manual transmission no longer shift, and is making air leak noise?

i bet it does shift in to gear, if you start engine in 1st or REV.gear.right. if you start engine in gear, with clutch depressed, and the car moves that means clutch failure. it can be a bad clutch linkage, easy fix. there are 2 systems. (3 on relics) cable and a hydraulic acuator. i can never tell what others can do, some cant tie shoe laces others fly to moon.. im laces. im too lazy no wto look up the linkage on yours. why not just look. see clutch master cylinder above pedal on fire wall? that is hyd. if missing and is cable ? bingo cable system. cable play never set ever? do so now, called free play. if cable end moves 1inch its good. if the slave cylinder dont move it or or the MC is bad. replace both, both are easy fixed, ask. .

How to change engine oil in subaru wrx

First off before you do anything locate and know where your oil pan is and your oil filter. Your pan will be accessed from under the car and will have about a 9/16 bolt on it. That is your oil pan drain. Find your filter which will be most likely on the front right of the engine. Get a pan under the oil pan plug, take off your oil cap in the engine, and unscrew the drain plug. As it is draining take off your oil filter with a filter wrench. You will most likely want something to set the filter in when you loosen it (it is full so keep it upright as possible) Let it drain until all is out, replace the filter, put the plug back in and fill with the recommended amount of oil. Turn it on for about 15 seconds and then off. Check for leaks at the plug and filter and tighten if needed. The filter does not get "cranked down". Don't forget to put your cap back on the top side and you are done. Before you close the hood check to make sure the oil level is in operating range marked on the stick.

Why does the initial cold start on my2.5L 1996 subaruhave noisy hydraulic lifters

Noise lifters on a 2.5 engine of the first generation are an unusuak problem; these engines are known to have "piston slap", which can sound fairly similar to noisy lifters. I owned a Forester with those symptoms and drove the car for more than 3 years without doing anything about it. The only real cure would be an engine rebiuld, which is , in most cases, not worth the effort, especially since most of the "stricken" cars continue to work without any problems for a long time.

Electric windows not working

Check the fuses first and then the window switches themselves. You will have to remove them and put a meter on them. You can cross the wires to see if the window will go up or down. If you can do it by crossing the wires then the switch is bad.

Rough idle but car runs fine

If its a simple rough idle consider a few things given you have a Subaru. Your basic spark plugs and even coils at this point with mileage. Goods foundation for well taken care of high mileage cars. The engine has proven its self, just keep taking care of it. Another thing to check if you do this and its still acting up is Subaru has issues with coolant getting corrosive and "eating" away at the head gaskets. If this is an issue you will have noticed a bit of coolant being lost. Check the spark plugs for coolant contamination Via google images or something. They get very clean because in a sense an internal leak does a kind of steam cleaning in a very distinct way. Next would be check for an external leak which should not cause rough idle, but low coolant and over heating is easy with your engine design. Air pockets are too easy to get on your design. Do what is needed to keep coolant sealed and air pocket free. Rough idle should also check vacuum hoses for cracks with high mileage. Rubber cracks and gets weak over this amount of time exposed to high heat of an engine. It just happens, its a rubber product. Silicone hoses are the best if you can get a hold of them. Pricey, but well worth it if you plan on keeping this or any car you plan on keeping to go this long. Anything else would need more testing that would require different tools and diagnostic evidence to go further. Good Luck
