Tip & How-To about Toyota Camry

Key Stuck in Ignition Fix

This is very common problem and most vehicle holders usually face this. But most people don't decide what should be done in this condition? Here are some suggestions about the key stuck problems for them.

Most often key stuck in the ignition and unable to lock the car where as the key is not broken. This situation might be occurred due to problem in shifter mechanism which means that your shift interlock is out of order. Immediately go the repair shop and address the problem to the repairman. If you delay in solving this problem, your airbag will deploy which may be cause of serious injury.

Sometime you try to move your key in the ignition and feel panic when it stuck in the ignition. You try again and again but couldn't get success to recognize what the matter is. In this condition first make your body relaxes! Take a long breath to relax your panic. Now move the steering left and right. If it doesn't move, this means that locking system in the steering wheel has been damaged. In this condition try to turn the steering wheel against the direction of the car's wheels again and again. Because your key stuck due to a pressure in steering column, when you do this, the pressure would be released and after a clicking sound your key will be released

Sometime you enter the key in ignition and move it to start the engine. Engine starts but key stuck in ignition and it does not go inside for locking the car. One of the probable cause of this situation is misplacing of cable in the steering column. You can check the cable under the dashboard and place the cable carefully. If you don't know about cables of ignition, so take the expert help because you can join the wrong cable which may be cause of short circuit.

The most common problem which we usually face is old and defective cars are: when we enter the key to start the car's engine, it makes effort to move the key again and again. It starts but after getting some effort this situation also occurs in switching off the engine. The cause of this problem is wire or button loosing. Wires and buttons are fitted in car's ignition and when enter the key; it does not reach at the place where it presses the button or connect the wires. This problem can only be solved with the expert help because the ignition has to be opened for solving this problem.

07 Chevy Tahoe BCM programmed

The air ride system can be "self tested" with a GM Tech 2 scan tool, you need that done to see what is causing this problem, it could be the suspension height sensor, it could be a leaking air bag (very common) or a defective air compressor or damaged leaking air lines from the compressor to the airbags, also a very common. The airbags are good for about 75,000 miles or less if the roads you travel on are in poor condition.

A/C is weak

I am not an automotive air conditioning expert, but generically speaking the common cause of weak cooling is loss of the cooling gas, compressor becoming weak, or a defective control valve; in that order. Most of the time in air conditioning systems they make a slow leak and eventually loose the cooling gas (freon).

Automobiles are ******* the air conditioning system because of the roughness they have to endure with bumps, jarring around, and severe conditions.

A common type of problem is the condenser leaking. The condenser becomes very humid all the time due to it being cold. The humidity promotes corrosion in its piping.

The air conditioning service person will put in the gas with an ultraviolet dye, run the system for a while, and then examine the system using an ultra violet lamp. He will be able to see where the leaks are occurring and thus give an estimate for the parts that must be replaced.

If you have an older vehicle, the air conditioning system can end up being rather expensive to service. With some of the common type faults don't be surprised if repairs can go in to a number of thousands of dollars, unless you are luck and the fault is a simple seal or gasket.

what problem does my car have with P013a from obd

The code means: O2 Sensor 1/2 slow response-rich to lean. This means that your vehicle's computer (PCM) is detecting the the oxygen sensor is switching from a lean condition to a rich condition less than 16 times in a 20 second time span while the engine is running. The most common cause for this code to set is either an exhaust leak or a faulty O2 sensor. I have seen in a number of cases though that athere was a short circuit in the voltage going to the O2 sensor and I believe I had a case where there was a short circuit coming from the O2 sensor to the PCM. There are several tests that need to be done to properly diagnose this diagnostic trouble code such as checking resistance in certain wires to rule out a short before just replacing the sensor itself but they are not that expensive but if you do decide to go ahead and replace be sure to get a good brand and not some cheap aftermarket one as they do not work well with your PCM. I hope this helps.

were is the speed sensor located?

Wheel sensor use a magnetic pickup at the wheel.

The transmission has a VSS or Vehicle Speed Sensor installed on the area where the speedometer cable, gear usually is.

Speedometer Driven Gear REMOVAL & INSTALLATION NOTE: The 1992-95 S20 transaxle uses an electronic Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) and therefore the following procedure does not apply to it. Fig. 1: Speedometer driven gear assembly removal - GV and GW series transaxles 86837018.gif
  1. Raise the vehicle and safely support it with jackstands.
  2. Remove the 10mm bolts and the holder plate.
  3. Remove the speedometer gear holder.
  4. Remove the driven gear from the holder. To install:
  5. Replace the driven gear if worn or damaged.
  6. Install the driven gear to the gear holder.
  7. Install a new O-ring to the holder and lubricate it with oil.
  8. Install the assembly in the transaxle aligning the slot with the holder plate.
  9. Tighten the bolts to 9 ft. lbs. (12 Nm).

How do you replace the front turn signal on a 2005 Buick Terraza?

Changing front, right turn signal on 2005 Buick Terraza: Open hood; when facing the front of vehicle, the right turn signal is on the passenger side (left). The headlight assembly needs to be removed to easily reach the turn signal. On my vehicle, there is a 10 mm screw on the left side. Remove it. There is L-shaped pin on the right side of the headlight assembly. Swing the pin counter-clockwise (to the left). Pull the pin straight up to remove. The headlight assembly is now loose, but there is a pin snapped in a socket on the back of the assembly that still holds the assembly. Pull the headlight assembly hard and straight to the front of the vehicle. When it snaps loose, the assembly is now held just by the rubber gasket surrounding the assembly. You need to gently work the right side of the gasket out of the grill cowling. The assembly should pull straight out. The wires are long enough to lay the headlight assembly in the engine compartment. Finally, the turn signal is now accessible. Twist the light holder counter-clockwise and pull out the light holder. Change the bulb. Do not punch your man-card for credit until you have successfully reinstalled the headlight assembly. It goes back in a little easier the second time. Once you have put the L-pin in place, the screw back, and successfully tested the lights, you can now punch your man-card.

I give the mechanical engineers and designers a D-minus instead of an F only because I was successful on the first try. No light bulb on anything commonly used by people should be this hard to figure out.
