Replacing Wiper Blades or Not

Do not replace your wiper blades until you have tried this, get some warm soapy water, soft all purpose cloth. Hose down your front and rear windscreen (if fitted with wiper blades) with normal water, clean the windscreen as you would when washing the vehicle. Get your cloth and dip it into warm soapy water, if your wiper arm stays upright put it in that position other wise lift it up and put a piece of towel or similar under it. Now with the soapy cloth give the wiper blade edge a good scrub, up and down, hold the blade itself with one hand on one end, it may slide out, you will notice the cloth getting black, you are cleaning off all the dirt that is stuck on the wiper blade, simple as that. It is usually that dirt which causes your wiper blades not to clean properly, you will eventually need to replace it but give it a go, you will be surprised.

CHANGING REAR WIPER ON 2008 OUTLANDER
These are available at the dealership. There is one way though. You can get a 21" RAIN X wiper and i just cut it down to size. The grooves on a RAIN X will fit up to your rear wiper. As far as replacing it although it looks more difficult at first glance it it every bit as simple as the front wiper blades. It's a simple pop off. You can also just change rubber wiper and leave the actual blade alone. the rear is a mini blade style (this refers to the size of the rubber insert in the blade, not the actual whole blade being small.) You can replace the rubber using an Amcor blade or any "mini" blade. Puchase the biggest one they have, take out the rubber wiper and just cut to size. You can change the rubber many times off of one blade thus saving you a bunch of money.

I need to adjust the wiper arm on a 1997 suburban, it hits the side of the window.
Wiper Arm & Blade (Front) Removal & Installation Wiper Blade To Remove:
  1. Turn ignition switch to ACCY position.
  2. Turn wiper switch to PULSE position and turn ignition OFF when wipers are stopped in the innerwipe position.
  3. Push the wiper blade clip button IN and remove wiper blade from wiper arm.
To Install:
  1. Insert wiper arm hook through opening in wiper blade.
  2. Place wiper blade pivot in the inside radius of wiper arm hook.
  3. Pull on wiper blade pivot into hook until it locks into place.
  4. Check wipers for proper operation.
Wiper Arm To Remove:
NOTE: Mark position of wiper blade on windshield to ensure proper position upon reassembly.
  1. Remove washer hose.
  2. Lift wiper arm from windshield and use a screwdriver to disengage retaining latch.
  3. Remove wiper arm from shaft.
To Install:
  1. Place wiper arm on shaft so that wiper arm aligns with marks placed on windshield.
  2. Press arm assembly on shaft and push retaining latch IN.
  3. Connect washer hose.
  4. Remove windshield markings and check wipers for proper operation.

location of front wiper motor relay and code stop working only rear wiper working but when you pull the wiper towards you instead of pushing away? can't find the location and have tried to find relay with no luck. Is ther a seperate relay for front and rear?
The rear wiper is on "off" position when you pull the "stick".
The relays are under the steering wheel. if you bend yourself down to the pedals, look up, ant there is a litle door, fixed with some nuts. remove them, pull the plastic just to look inside, and you'll see the relays. the relay that control the wiper system is the bigger one. is one relay for front and back. You could open it and you'll see two electromagnets which controls some contacts. you could try clean them with a soft and clean cloth(tissue). Also check the fuses. The fuses are located on the side panel trim from the driver's door. The fuses for front and back wiper sistem are separated. On the back of the panel from the fuses you'll see a diagram with what each fuse does.Good luck.

  1. REMOVE RR WIPER BLADE
    1. Raise the rear wiper blade to the position as shown in the illustration where the meshing of the claw disengages with a clicking sound. NOTE: Be careful not to break the claw.
    2. Pull straight the rear wiper blade to vehicle's left from the wiper arm. NOTE: Do not fold the rear wiper arm with the rear wiper blade removed from it.1722d05.gif

  1. REMOVE REAR WIPER RUBBER
    1. Place the rear wiper with the rear end of the rubber protruded from the blade stopper as shown in the illustration. NOTE: Do not pull out the wiper rubber forcibly, as the backing plates will become deformed or the blade claws will become damaged. HINT: The rubber can be easily pulled out by pushing the middle area of the blade.

  1. INSTALL REAR WIPER RUBBER
    1. Install the 2 wiper rubber backing plates to the rear wiper rubber. NOTE: Be careful to observe and keep direction of curvature for correct replacement.

b. Insert the rear wiper rubber from the claw of the middle of the rear wiper blade into the rear end position.

c. After passing the rear wiper rubber through the rear end side claw, protrude it from the rear end stopper and pass it through the front tip side claw.
