radio won't turn on asking for a code

Hello! When you purchased your Mercedes a card (similar to a bank card), which has the radio code stamped on, should have accompanied your owners manual. If not visit your dealership and they can give you the code. Turn on the radio, punch in the code, and radio will come on. Any time your battery is disconnected, when you power back up the radio code must be re-entered.

I disconnected the battery cables to clean them, but when I reconnected them, the radio and the clock don't work. Why? And, the radio says to enter a code. What code is it talking about, and how do I enter it into the cars system?

are you the orig owner of the car ? That is an ANTI -THEFT code, the radio is asking for. It re=entered throgh the radio buttons. The Volvo dealer can assist with the code. In the future in order to avoid this problem, purchase a 9VOLT memory retainer, thatplugs into the cig lighter socket, while you disconnect the battery. Then you remove it
