Tip & How-To about Honda Pilot

How to replace the brake light on a 2003 honda pilot ?

There are two philips head screws that are only accessible after opening the rear tailgate lid. Remove the two screws which will allow the removal of the entire tail-light assembly. (Note that it might take some effort as there are two retaining lugs on the outer edge of the fixture which are press fitted but wiggle and pull and they will pop loose, just be careful.) The lights are identified tail and brake. A third turn to the left and the bulb housing can be removed. Simply pull the bulb from the plug and replace with like bulb bought at any auto parts store. NOTE : what ever you do .Do it carefully and slowly. Thanks.this will help.

2002 Cadillac escalade I want to remove the Rear bumper cover to get to the license plate lights assembly to add new ones.

Remove the wheels if possible.
Remove the two clips from each side (by pulling up the center).
Move the fender liner away to access and remove the 7 mm bolt that is near the corner.
Unscrew the four cargo anchors from the floor of the trunk.
Move the trim panel and remove the 4 10mm bolts.

To get to the license plate lights assembly, you can follow these steps:

Open the rear compartment lid and locate the license plate light assembly inside the trunk lid.
Above the license plate, locate four Philips head screws holding the license plate light assembly inside the trunk lid.
Remove the screws (caution: in winter, plastic is extremely fragile and can break easily).
Once the screws are off, your license light assembly is loose inside the trunk lid.

my rear hatch door will not open, I am looking for a manual way to open the rear hatch? and a solution to this problem. also looking for a detailed manual for the fuse box.as I am wondering if the read door not opening might be a fuse, although all the other doors open and lock fine! please help

I think some of the Durangos have this as a regular fault. The only way to open the door is to gain access to the latch inside the door panel. You will need a cross head screw driver and a flat head screw driver. As well as a flashlight and some WD40.
Drop the rear seats and empty the trunk as you are going to have to sit in it to do this. Carefully remove the upper window trim. It is clipped in so it should pull free with a bit of patience and effort. This should reveal two cross head screws, one each side. Remove these. The lower trim panel should ease out far enough for you to see, using the flashlight, the release latch at the bottom of the door. The latch is connected to the handle by a rod so follow it down to find the latch. The trigger arm moves up and down.
Using the flat screw driver and using the handle connecting rod as a guide, push the latch trigger down. Applying light pressure to the tailgate might help it let go.
You may need to disconnect the rod at the top to get enough slack to move the latch release. I think it just hooks out with a small screw driver.
Once the tailgate is open you can then fully remove the lower trim to get better access for repairs.

how to replace right rear turn signal bulb. doesn't look like I can reach the bulb without removing the entire assembly. Looks like I need a tool that fits on a star head to remove it. Correct?

open the trunk lid and remove the screws. If they are star head screws, you'll need that typ of tool. The assmbly should easily be removed and you'll have access to the bulbs
