Tip & How-To about Honda Civic

Civic headlight restoration

HTML clipboard Honda civic head lights are known for their yellowing look, They begin to lose their luster. Here is a simple trick for fixing your yellow, tarnished headlights. Don't get stuck paying for an expensive headlight repair kit ; save some money and give this a try. It will definitely give you great results

-Tools needed - buffer, terry cloth bonnets, Rubbing compound, polishing compound and a any type of polish.

- Procedures - The first thing you will need to do is clean the headlight of any debris so that when you are buffing it you do not cause any deep scratches in the lenses. Next apply a generous amount of the rubbing compound to the buffer and begin buffing the lens with an even back and forth motion until all the compound has turned into a powdery substance. Then wipe it off with a small cloth. Now use the polishing compound to smooth the lens using the same buffing method. The last step is to apply the polish with a dry cloth and rub in circles until the polish is even distributed over the lens, I prefer to use Scratch Out polish for a great shine. visit fix my civic .net for more tips and tricks

Pay close attention to the 'fixing leaks' part. You will probably need a heater core (from the sounds of it).

1991 honda civic random wont start, on the random times it wont start the yellow service engin light will come on. battery is good and the engin turns over just wont start.

I have the same problem, It seem to be a relay that doesn't engage making a clicking sound under the fuse panel near the steering wheel happens most of the time when it is hot. playing with the ignition key a few time do the trick for me. wish I had a better explanation/solution for you and myself though.

the 02 sensor is not working

there are 4 o2 sensors. one on each bank after the cat. converters, one before the muffler and one on the muffler.

chances are it one of the o2 sensors by the cat converters.

check you Mass Air Sensor and replace spark plugs, because there is probably something simple that wrecked your o2 sensor in the first place and it will help your vehicle run and last longer. It could be more complicated, like a vacuum leak cuz honda civics are known to have head gaskets replaced.

But i guess first you need to figure out which o2 sensor it is.
