STICKING GAS PEDAL-TOYOTA CAMRY AND OTHERS

No need to panic rush through this procedure, just do it right. Haste makes waste.

1. Simultaneously depress and release brake and accelerator pedals 1 time.

2. Insert an original Master Key into the ignition but do not turn it.

3. Within 15 seconds depress and release accelerator pedal 5 times.

4. Within 20 seconds depress and release the brake pedal 6 times and remove key.

5. Within 10 seconds insert New Key into ignition but do not turn it.

6. Within 10 seconds depress and release the accelerator pedal 1 time.

7. Now sit and wait for about one minute until the security light in the center counsel stops blinking and turns off.

8. Remove new key and depress and release brake pedal 1 time.

9. Test your key now. It should work if you followed the instructions. If not, you may want to try the following instructions:

This procedure is for 2002 Camry and most other models in this year of Toyota. In the future always give the model as well as year and make. Thanks

"A Question for TOYOTA ED,,,,", Need info for my 1992 Toyota Camry V6. Problem One: When I accelerate, and get off the gas, the pedal stays right where last pressed. Pressed down again to see if it releases, stays there, high idled. Unsafe to put in gear/drive. Have to go under the hood, pull back lever. Pedal cabel is sticking or not retracting somewhere! Problem Two: New radiator and thermostat, car seems to still be overheating, bubbling noise in anti-freeze jug. However, temp gauge now reads normal with new parts. Last but not least- Problem Three: Bad exhaust leak at crossover pipe. Can I have this section of pipe with the steel bands cut out and replaced with a straight pipe or do I need to replace whole upper crossover pipe? THANX, Toyota Ed! [email protected]

Both toyota prius accelerator cases that I know of have been reported as flukes. the accellaration procces for the fuel and the hybrid models are completely different. plus the sticky pedal finding is a buy product from intense study from camry and the lexus version of camrys unattended excellaration probem, the sticky pedal will just not let of gas properly and also to be extremely rare not accelerating. Plus the hybrid versions are made in japan and if the did have the same pedal as a gas it would be made by denso the japanese pedal manufacturer, that has a heavier pedal it even has two more bolts compared to the american manufactured pedal that has been recalled. I personally build the highlander fuel version in Indiana It is an excellent vehicle i aswell own a 2010 that me an my family love youve got a great vehicle dont let abusers of a problem scare you of it.

its either the throttle cable is binding or you could just loosen the clamp off the rubber intake boot. and pull it off the intake and pull open the throttle and clean the butter fly that opens and closes and see if that helps, if its really dirty with old oil carbon build up itll feel really sticky. does this help
