Lexus GX460 2010 - 4lo Code

I have a Lexus GX460 2010 model, all of a sudden it started showing me 4lo, check traction and P anytime I start the Vehicle. please what is the cause and what is the possible solution?

Solution:- Get a qualified Auto Technician with Updated Auto Code reader and he will read the fault / code. Upon completing this scan, next is to reset the 4lo Fault without opening any part of the engine, this process takes approx 15Min.

Why did the Reduced engine power, engine light and traction control light all come on at once?

Hook up a professional grade scan tool to the vehicles computers an check for DTC'S diagnostic trouble codes , that will tell a professional mechanic what to check.

there was a recall issued that said the ECM needed to be reflashed.
Contact a dealership service writer and have the VIN number handy. They will check to see if the recall work was ever done on your vehicle.
Although that recall was for the stability control, it's a possibility

When i move the car at a point VDC off and slip comes up and the vehicle shuts down, when i start back the engine starts and the signs remain, what could be the solotion to this?

If the vehicle is on a slippery surface, then you are basically describing normal traction control system operation. This system will halt spark to the plugs so that the engine can no longer power the wheels and cause them to slip. Engine performance will pick up again once the wheels find traction.

Is this what you are describing? Not all vehicle traction control systems can be shut off 100%, even when the switch is set to off.

Does this issue occur on all road surfaces and conditions?

Anti lock, trac off, service vehicle, check engine lights are on &the brake pedal starts to stop then slips with humming sound repeatedly so what is it?

Year make and model?

You'll need to start by pulley codes. There could be more than one problem, but your description sounds like a condition known as overactive ABS. This is caused by a wheel speed sensor dropping or loosing its signal at slow speeds which fools the ABS into thinking the wheel locked up.

Each wheel will have a sensor so having the code information will make it a lot easier to determine which wheel is having the problem.

the traction control light will come on anytime the ABS light is on because the traction control relies on the ABS to function correctly. Usually the check engine light will not come on when there is an ABS issue which leads me to believe there are two issues.

My lexus just quit working, it will crank but die when you put it in gear, the check engine light came on with a code of VSC any ideas. Thanks.

Saw this on a Lexus user club site ---
  • Vehicle Skid Control (VSC) senses the onset of loss of lateral traction and helps the driver stay on track. Input from four wheel-speed sensors, a yaw-rate (directional) sensor, a deceleration sensor, and a steering-wheel-angle sensor is communicated to the VSC computer. The system has the ability to reduce power and to control the brake actuator. Working with both ABS and TRAC, the VSC system helps the driver to compensate for loss of lateral traction, which can cause skids and loss of vehicle control. Lexus Vehicle Skid Control (VSC) is an electronic system designed to help the driver maintain vehicle control under adverse conditions. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Factors including speed, road conditions and driver steering input can all affect whether VSC will be effective in preventing a loss of control.
However, it appears Lexus owners who have reported this sort of problem did not have to do anything to fix except - things like .. uncap gas cap and put it back, remove battery leads for about 10 minutes and put back, tighten air filter hose ...all wierd.

Have you checked your owner's manual ?
