I have a Lexus GX460 2010 model, all of a sudden it started showing me 4lo, check traction and P anytime I start the Vehicle. please what is the cause and what is the possible solution?
Solution:- Get a qualified Auto Technician with Updated Auto Code reader and he will read the fault / code. Upon completing this scan, next is to reset the 4lo Fault without opening any part of the engine, this process takes approx 15Min.
You own a high end luxury vehicle as do I, 2005 ES330, the dealership is the best place to get Lexus problems fixed. With my own vehicle, I had a thermostat fault code come up, and like you it would reset itself and come back. The code said it was the thermostat and I queried it with my tyre guy. He also said it is a thermostat code. I said but it isn't overheating. He told me that the computers in Lexus are so clever they are actually looking for the water to reach x degrees in x minutes. He replaced the thermostat, the fault never came back. Anyway back to your P0172 Error code.
are you using 4wd /yes /no are you on ice, or off road? or just pavement ice free, we cant guess that. and is KEY car comes new with 3 different 4wd systems first 2 are part time and last full time 4wd and 4lo (PT) all three stay out of part time on icefree pavement 4lo is part time too, and same rules its for offroad only. sure the cluster has 3 lamps fulltime part time and 4 LO tell me, does or has fulltime ever come on in 4wd if yes,its AWD jeep. if not the car is part time, in 4wd and is only for iced roads or offroad.
5min work look at rear of transfer case bingo, now you know what you got
there was a recall issued that said the ECM needed to be reflashed.
Contact a dealership service writer and have the VIN number handy. They will check to see if the recall work was ever done on your vehicle.
Although that recall was for the stability control, it's a possibility
VSC Is ..Vehicle Stability Control..It is a control system for traction loss, scidding,.If one tire loses traction it will light up..It shouldn't interfere with starting...Make sure all CV Axles for drivetrain isn't damaged...?..Did this happen all of a sudden..?..You can wear safety glasses and disconnect negative battery to erase the code and reset the computer..Reconnect and then try to start it..Be sure car is in park..!
