How to activate empty button in Volvo dome light

You can easily activate empty button in your Volvos dome light and use it with garage door opener, aftermarket immobilizer or any other gadget.

Enabling is easy. All you need is flat screwdriver, nail file, sharp blade and reset button switch from old computer case.

Hi Houston, My problem is that when the drivers door is opened it does not activate the dome light. All the other doors activate the dome light when opened. The drivers door is the only door that when opened, will not activate the dome light. I just need to know where the dome light switch is located for the drivers door only on a 2003 Dodge Neon SXT. It is NOT located anywhere in the door jamb like most vehicles as far as I can see. I do understand how it all works making the circuit complete when the door is opened and dont need all the technical terms. Just need to know where this switch is located so I can start there. Thank you

There is two switches and they are hot at all times. One is the door ajar and the second one is the headlight switch.

I have had the car for about 3 years. after the first year when you opened the driver's side rear door, the dome light would not go on. Now, the light won't go on no matter which doors are open. the dome light does work by depressing the map-light buttons.

Check the operation of the door sense switches, they may be sticking.
Check domelight switch is in correct position to enable auto door activation (if applicable).

dome light does not come on when doors open, but does when dim switch is rotated. The dome light bypass button has no effect on it.

All the door switches use the same wiring harness. It's an orange and a white wire. There is a switch on the dash to turn the dome and wheel lights off. If the lights come on with the dimmer, the whole harness is OK, so now check to see if that switch is turned off... or bad
