Tip & How-To about 1993 Cadillac DeVille

DISCONNECTING YOUR BATTERY without losing the RADIO CODE

I constantly read frequent requests for RADIO CODES referring to the disconnection of battery power ( whether its for changing the battery, etc.) and the radio is now INOP. Here is a simple way to save radio codes, radio stations, clock time and computer settings. Purchase from an auto parts dealer, a 9 volt battery powered lighter socket connector. Plug into lighter, do your battery work, After work is completed, disconnect, and radio will work as before. Unit will cost less than 20.00 and well worth it.

My 1990 F150 was hard shifting into 4th gear. So I did a filter and fluid change. Now it wont shift out of 1st and coasts instead of engine braking. It has the AOD.

No engine given and wrong transmission all motors are 4.9/5.0/5.8 and they all use the E40D Whether 4wd or rwd and try to read the codes refer to reading obd code reading for process and after they ard read try disconnecting the battery cables to clear codes and see if they come back and if the problem persists was the fluid very dirty and are you sure you put it back together the right way and check the modulator vacuum line for breaks in it and possibly changing it out for a new one about $21.00 at local stores $8-$15+@rockauto +shipping

After I change my battery give me all this codes ,u1403,u0141,u1120,u1103,u110e

All the codes you have listed are all Network Communications Codes....Possible Computer Failure..All codes are for different control modules at fault...Body control modules, drive motor control modules.Power control modules...,etc....Did you touch anything that caused sparks..?..Was lights,radio,..etc..turned on when battery was replaced..? You can try disconnecting battery completely..Then reconnect...USE SAFETY GLASSES..They could all be false codes if you are lucky...The computer will reset itself doing this...Be positive ALL components are OFF before doing this.....If all is the same codes take it to dealer and they will use proper scanner...

2008 cadillac cts key fob not working

Testing would need to be done , scan tool hooked up checking DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . View data etc...
Keyless Entry System Description and Operation - Active
The keyless entry system is a vehicle entry device. The keyless entry system is used in conjunction with the door locks to unlock the vehicle. Keyless entry will lock/unlock a door or open the rear compartment lid when a corresponding button on the keyless entry transmitter is pressed. This is accomplished by the transmitter sending a radio frequency to the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR). The RCDLR interprets the signal and activates the requested function via a serial data message. A low transmitter battery or radio frequency (RF) interference from aftermarket devices, such as 2-way radios, power inverters, computers, etc., may cause a system malfunction. High RF traffic areas, such as gas stations that use pay-at-the-pump RF transponders, may also cause interference that could lead to a malfunction. Keyless entry allows you to operate the following features:
• Door lock/unlock
• Rear compartment lid release
• Illuminated entry lamps
• Panic alarm/Vehicle locator
• Remote vehicle start

Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop . Dealer
