Remote Key FOB Signal Strength Extension

Park the car at a friends house a distance away from its at home location. See if the car starts. If so It is either someone having fun or a failure of the remote start system that randomly initiates an engine start!!

If car starts return the car to the dealer explaining that this proposes a serious problem with the fool proofing and or reliability of the start feature. If the car had been parked in a garage and started without driver activation it poses a serious concern!!

See if the dealer will perform the checks and perform
a no cost repair??

If the car doesn't start it is likely a neighbor with a similar car activating the start. If the car is equipped with an aftermarket remote start feature check to see if the code can be changed.

If the vent is separate from the solenoid yes you can move it. I use heater hose to go between the solenoid and the vent. Just try and mount it somewhere the dust and dirt wont get to it.

is your security light in dash flashing if so try to start let off key but do not cut off leave key on so all your dash lights are on let vehicle set for at least 15 mins. flashing security light should stop flashing once it stops flashing start vehicle sounds like it has tripped security

There is a soft top tool that should be in the tool kit for the car(although you could use a flat blade screw driver). There are 4 securing posts that must be turned to un secure top. 2 are above the sun visors and 2 are just behind the front doors where the b pillar would be if it was a sedan. Make sure you un plug the defroster connector behind passenger seat on side panel. There is a crank behind the driver's seat that secures the rear portion of the top and activates your storage compartment lid. The cables can stretch causing it not to pull the securing latch. If it doesn't work try taking a long screw driver and pushing the latch. You can adjust the cable when the top is off. It will take 2 people to remove the top once it is loose. good luck

if your not getting any sound at all, it means it is your ignition, and by holdin the key you are probably jumping the connections.

Replce the ignition and your problem will go away.
