I own a 04 Pontiac Sunfire with a 2.2 litre engine and the only way I know of to make your car start is to leave the key on for ten minutes then turn off ignition and then start it!

I have your fix, Disconnect your Heater Core hoses and flush out the Heater Core or replace it. The coolant has to pass through the Heater Core before it gets to the Thermostat. GM designed the cooling system this way to speed up in-cab heating.

Check your transmission fluid. This is a common transmission code. Torque converter clutch not locking up. You may or may not notice a difference in the driving. but defininately dont let the issue go without further investigation. the result in this light could cost you a transmission if you drive it too long without repair.

I would suspect a head gasket or head problem.. the catalytic converter being plugged causes heat build up in the engine and overheating in the engine can cause failure of the head hasket or head itself. The reason your cylinders are misfiring could be water leaking from a water port in the head and into the cylinder which would cause the cylinder not to fire..there might be some steamy vapor coming coming out of the exhaust if that is happening

The problem is the pipe that has split or separated under the fuel filler. It is supposed to be an airtight seal for the fuel and the fumes from the fuel. All called the Evaporative (gas vapour) Emission (gas NOT getting into the atmosphere) System. Nothing to do with the other items you mentioned and all caused by the above.
