2001 BMW X5 4.4 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
My 2001 x5 evap & catalyst report not ready, I reset my MAF OBDII Code ~70 miles before checking it, but...
if you had reset the code[ or had a dead battery]you just cleared and reset all the vehicles evap / emissions systems it now has to recycle through to reset you wont have a check engine or mil unless computer finds a fault and on most vehicles it can be about 125 miles and usually the last to reset are the evap and the catalytic converter drive around and at around 125 mark go to an auto store and have vehicle scanned most offer this service for free or if you have one check your system for ready if not keep driving some more most states give you 10 days to retry so use that time to rack up miles -- and dont reset or clear codes before an inspection

Error codes PO600 and P1747
P1747 CAN-Bus Monitoring
P0600 Serial Communication Link
These codes indicate a communications failure between the transmission control unit and ABS/traction system. These modules share information which allow them to operate properly. It is likely that one of the modules has an internal fault.
With these generic codes it is not possible to determine the exact nature of the issue. Your best bet is going to be a dealer diagnosis using their sophisticated equipment so that the root cause can be determined and eliminate any guess work. The p codes are too generic in this case, unfortunately.

What does 'trans failsafe' code mean?
First of all, check the transmission fluid level and colour. If it's a nice red colour it's probably okay. If it's brownish in colour it may be burnt/needs changing. Or point to a fault within the transmission unit.
However, other things can cause this error. Your vehicle is a veritable network of sensors that all interact with one another. If your speedo stops working when this error appears it may be an ABS sensor at fault. Nothing to do with the transmission unit itself.
It could also be caused by a slight lack of power caused by a failing oxygen sensor, or an air leak.
It's impossible to second - guess the cause or give a definitive answer as there's so many 'could be' ..
If your vehicle is driving ok take that as a positive. Your next port of call should be to take it to a workshop that has quality diagnostic equipment. It's worth paying out for a diagnostic test (preferably at a BMW workshop given the complexity of these vehicles..). Not only will this put your mind at rest but it will also prevent other problems arising and the situation worsening.
My off-the - cuff guess is that it's a sensor

2003 BMW X5 E53. Why doesn't the CD cartridge eject?
There could be several reasons why the CD cartridge is not ejecting from your 2003 BMW X5 E53. Here are some steps you can try to get it out and potential causes of the issue:
- Check the CD player: First, make sure that the CD player is on and functioning properly. If the player is not working, it may not be able to eject the cartridge. Check the player for any error messages or signs of malfunction.
- Press the eject button: Try pressing the eject button on the CD player. If the cartridge is still not ejecting, you may need to try a different method.
- Use a thin object: If the eject button is not working, you can try using a thin object, such as a paperclip or needle, to press the eject button. Insert the object into the small hole near the eject button and push gently. This may release the cartridge.
- Check the cartridge: If the cartridge is still not ejecting, there may be a problem with the cartridge itself. Check the cartridge for any signs of damage or wear. Make sure that the CDs are properly inserted into the cartridge.
- Check the CD player mechanism: If the cartridge is not damaged and the CD player is functioning properly, the issue may be with the CD player mechanism. In this case, you may need to take the car to a mechanic or a BMW dealership for repair.
It's worth noting that some BMW models have a security feature that prevents the CD cartridge from ejecting if the battery has been disconnected or the car has been jump-started. If this is the case, you may need to enter a security code to unlock the CD player before you can eject the cartridge. Check your car's manual for instructions on how to enter the security code.

Where is the coldstart relay situated on a 2006 bmw x5
There is no cold start relay. Cold start mode ( open loop, rich, high idle) is controlled by the ECU. A coolant temp. sensor signals warm up to shift the ECU to closed loop mode(warm, lean, normal idle). Check the coolant sensor and correct coolant level. The thermostat controls warm up time.
