I would check and see if there is an anti-theft mode for that model car. I had the same issue with a Pontiac 2005 Grand Am and it turned out I had to turn the ignition switch all the way on, but not try and start it, and leave it in that position for 8-10 minutes. Then, turn the switch back to the off position, wait 5 seconds, then try and start it. Hope this helps.

Have the codes read, even if there is no light on. This can be from one end of fuel/air problems to the other. Too much fuel, not enough air. Too much air, not enough fuel. First thing would be to clean the throttle body. The plate and where it sets inside of it. Brake clean and a tooth brush.

Low Engine Coolant. You perhaps have leaky coolant tank. Check if the tank holds coolant.

do you have a/c on your car if you do turn it on and see if the cooling fan comes on ! if it don't you will need to replace it after you check to see if there is power going to the fan if the fan comes on then the t-stat will need to be replaced

Get the leaking element/area/seal/gasket repaired and refill transmission.

comment on the code number that was showing as each code refers to a specific solenoid. Also what the symptoms were that required to have the codes read.

Sorry although this vehicle is similar to our europeon GM astra our cars are all manual gearboxes ,yes i have seen the odd auto but few and far between so i would suggect you go to the main dealer stores and ask for this solonoid and get them to show you on the screen where its fitted,in america they no doubt selll it as a seperate item but here in spain you can only get a replacement gearbox no spares are sold for a auto box ,i know because i have tried in the past .The result the owner scrapped the car

There are 4 motor mounts on the engine. You found the top mount. The bottom mount on that side is a dog bone and is right under the crankshaft pulley. The bottom mount is on the other side in about the same place. The drivers side top mount is another dog bone and is under the battery box. For best results, change all four of them at once, and make sure to buy a GM original mount for the top one. The knockoff mounts just aren't as smooth and durable as the real thing. Believe me on this one, the huge difference is well worth the few extra bucks.

most engines have 3 or 4 engine mounts and if one had failed the others will be close behind. Misalignment of the engine to the shifting operation will lock levers or jam cables.

While the hood is open. Rn the engine with a helper operating the gas pedal and e-brake locked. Place the car in D and then R while you are watching the engine from the side. Have the helper step on the gas in each of the gears and watch what happens to the engine. If the engine jumps around,, then you have other mounts that are broken and need replacing.

Check your idle air control. If it does not work properly, it allows extra air into the engine and brings you engine RPMs up.

Could be plug catalytic con.

I'm assuming this is 1.9 litre engine. The sensor is located on the Back side of the engine, (firewall side). It is mounted under the intake manifold at the transmission end of the engine block.

Question edited for clarity, change 'spuddering' to 'sputtering. No Model Type provided. Where is it spitting from? The exhaust tailpipe or the new exhaust manifold? Did you replace the gasket? Were the bolts torqued down? Was the Oxygen Sensor a good OEM one, or a Chinese / Mexico copy? Is the connector clean and making good contact? Did you check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes using a Scan Tool computer? Was the vehicle running recently or stored 2 years with fuel that has gone bad? The answer is in there somewhere Pamela. ..

Usually the canister is alongside the fuel tank at the rear of the car. Sometimes vents into the fuel filler pipe.
