The outside temperature gauge in my 2006 Toyota Tacoma no longer works. Is there a fuse I can check? I have looked in the manual and all through the vehicle and can not find it yet...
It is not the fuse. I had the same problem for months. Sometimes, depending on the temperature the overhead temp guage would work then it would not. I thought it was a loose connection but that was not it at all. I checked on the internet and found a ton of people with the same issue. It is caused by loose connections on the "510" resistors. My solder connections looked good but I resoldered and it works like a charm. Go here for a description of the issue and then look down farther for a description of the solution with pictures: http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/archive/topic/172978-1.html

Truck stopped running. My mechanic here in Afghanistan has limited diagnostic capabilites on site. He diagnosed the fuel injectors were bad. They have been replaced. The motor now starts, idles rough and will not go above 2100-2200 rpm. Check engine light is on. There are no dealers here to take it to, only local mechanics. Thanks for any ideas. I am desperate.

what is the procedure to change serpentine belt on my tacoma? where is the tension pulley, WHAT TOOLS REQUIRED? diagrams.
On my 2005 Tacoma with the 4.0L V6, I found it easier to change the belt from under the truck. Just remove the skid pan. Plenty of room to install the belt. The tensioner pulley is the one at about 2-o'clock from the crankshaft with the belt nearly all the way around it.

Is there a fuse for the overhead compass/temp dispaly for a 2006 Toyota Tacoma and where is it located?
The 10 amp IGI #2 fuse controls several other components including the dome light, cruise control, and brake lights. If these are working but the compass is dim, intermittent, or dead then the control module has gone bad. You can get a replacement from toyota but I believe it costs $500+.

2006 tacoma heat/air blower fuse location
Hello! Coil of Heater Relay is supplied through Fuse "IG1 2" (10A)...Located in the Drivers Side Box...Contacts of Relay are supplied through "Heater Fuse (50A)...Located in Engine Relay Box...Blower Motor has a 2 wire connector with wire colors: Black/Yellow (Pin 2)...And White/Blue (Pin 1)...Pin 1=Ground and Pin 2=Battery when Relay pulls and contacts close...
The Blower Resistor Pack (Which fails often) controls the fan speed...BUT, there is a fuse inside the assembly...If it blows = No Fan...Located on the top of the heater/AC box and can be accessed through the Glove Compartment...Guru...Saailer

The Heat & AC Blower Motor stops working intermittently in my 2006 Toyota Tacoma. When it works it works in all speeds. Usually it is either working or not working when I start the car and sometimes (not always) changes from either working or not working after car has been shut off and restarted. I have pulled inspected and reinstalled the10 amp Ign 10 amp Ign No 2 fuses behind coin drawer and 10 Amp AC Fuse in Engine Compartment Fuse Box but no change. I have pulled the harness at the fan motor and it looks normal, no burn marks. Can I eliminate any suspect parts: Fuses, Switch, Relay, Resistor, or Motor by these symptoms? Can anybody tell me which connections (wire colors) to hook 12 volts and a ground up to at the connector to the fan motor so I can bypass everything in the circuit and see if it is the motor?
there is a TSB for a noisy blower motor and not working except on Hi, both cover under 36K miles, repair includes replacing blower motor and or resistor block and harness, judging your problem can be a bad resistor block and harness. hope it helps

When I start my Tacoma, there is a whining when idling, and also when RPM's increase. Haven't noticed any issues while driving though, other than this annoying noise. I've replaced the alternator, and flushed and replaced the power steering pump, but haven't had any luck. The Issue started a few days after having my transmission fluid flushed, so I'm starting to think there is an issue there?
I never suggest flushing a trans
Just remove the pan & clean
If you want most of the fluid out,
drive it a week or so then drain again.
I suspect the noise is the trans pump,
but don't know exactly how any dirt sediment
flushed into it would cause a noise

HOW TO RESET ABS LIGHT ON 06 TACOMA
Locate the 16 pin Data Link Connector under the steering side.
To clear fault codes, switch off ignition, connect jumper wire between terminals TS (pin 12) and CG (pin 4). Switch the key on, then pump the brake pedal eight or more times in three seconds or less. When codes are erased, the ABS light should flash two times per second.
Switch off the ignition. Remove the jumper wire.
Hope that works.
If problem persists, contact a service personnel.
