Prius 2005 triangle indication
The Triangle indication:
Description: MASTER WARNING LIGHT.
The battery ECU has a self-diagnosis system. If the computer, High Voltage (HV) battery system or the components are not working properly, the ECU carries out a diagnosis to detect the malfunction, and illuminates the master warning light in the combination meter together with the HV system warning indicator on the multi information display.
NOTE:
The master warning light illuminates when the HV battery system fails and it blinks when in inspection mode.
Prius warning lights abs pressure brake
abs concern. abs light. also, red brake light. is this correct? drive axle was replaced. testing for abs codes can lead to a pinpoint test.
once codes are read, there may be a specific area indicated to run tests. since the wheel hub area was where the recent work was performed...i suggest looking at the abs exciter ring for the wheel speed sensor.if the teeth are broken off , and or smashed or flattened. the hub, or the ring attached may need correction. there may also be a speed sensor wire and sensor concern after working in that area. inspect the sensor, its wires, and the connectors that attach it to the wiring. take the result of the code check, pinpoint test, and physical condition of the parts into mind, and decide. report your findings. you will need a good quality DVOM test meter to perform electrical tests. and guided diagnostic from the applicable service manual.
My prius flooded
Not a problem, strip her down and wash with alkaline degreaser then rinse with weak solution of Phosphoric acid (main ingredient of rust converter, get 5L 90% for $50) scrub ECU and any other un sealed electronic boards with glass cleaner, dry then spray with CRC brand 2-26 electrical spray. If you have time it can be done, no guarantees, its only scrap metal if you don't try and repair, make sure you disclose to future owners.
All icons come on when started, stays in neutral.
sounds like the rod that travels from the ignition to the switch on the column under dash is bent or the switch is out of place. Remove panel below column above gas pedal and check or replace that switch where it attaches to the column under the dash and half-way down the column.
Prius headlights work only on highbeam
There should be separate fuses for high and low beams on a Prius. If one of your headlight bulbs is bad, it could have blown the low-beam fuse. Check for blown fuses behind driver's side headlight fuse panel. If new one blows, replace headlight bulbs and try again. On 2004-2009 Prius, driver's side headlamp bulb can be replaced by removing hold down screws and folding fuse panel upward to access rear of headlight assembly. Large round cover with 3 tabs unscrews about 1/4 turn to remove. It's really tight and held by friction of large O-ring so it'll take some muscle but it will eventually give. Be careful replacing bulbs as metal clips can be easily installed incorrectly resulting in tilted headlight beam. 3-tabs must rest on flat surfaces on mounting area before spring clip can be latched in place. 3-prong plug can be wiggles sideways/up and down to remove from bulb.
My Prius 2006 will not start with the remote not in the key hole.
I had the same problem with 2007 Prius. Before doing the resetting procedure, look under the steering wheel and see if there is a "key" button. Mine had been pushed in,inadvertently during an inspection, which immobilized the "smart" operation. Simply pushing the button solved the problem.
Abs annd brake light stays on
Your brakes would require some testing because there are a couple things that could go wrong that would give you a hard pedal. With regards to your abs light and handbrake light staying on you should get your codes read to give you more info. But they share a common fault. One of the reasons they could both be on is because your skid control ECU is faulty. Otherwise it could be two separate issues.
When should i change the brakes
there is no set time or mileage because brake wear is determinded by type o vehicle and how a person drives and also where they drive the best is to check the pads or shoes as to actual wear and thats by removing wheel and actually looking at them---as to when most pads have the screech sensor [metal tab that rubs on rotor ] when pads are getting low and need replacement also when vehicle s inspected they look at brakes and usually tell u if ur getting to a point for replacement
